...I btw really enjoyed my stay. It was very interesting especially because I lived in the middle of the old medina. I can definitely recommend a visit. :)

Nice artistic pictures, but it seems like you took snaps of poor areas only :p

I stayed in the old part of town - I was only outside the medina (the old city walls) once to visit some garden (forgot the name). But I guess that the old/poor part is also the most interesting part for a European tourist. :)

that is cool
some tourists that go to morocco want to see the " real morocco " they are not interested in modern part of morocco they prefer to visit the traditional side
I am not saying all but some tourists

Since I was only there for two days I only had time for the traditional side (even though it was very tourist focused). Next time I'll come to Morocco I'll visit the non tourist places. :)

darija is a language or a dialect? I only know the term as a name :)

Hi Oland, welcome to the Moroccan forum :hi:

Thanks, I've been here before though when I had a few questions before going to Marrakech. ;)

Glad you like them. I use a Canon Eos 450D (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_EOS_450D) and all this pictures where taken with the kit-lens. I've also done a little photoshopping one some of the pictures to make the colors stand out a little more.

Marrakech is gorgeous, eventhow it has two drawbacks

1) The salesmen in the Medina are annoying, they want to force you to buy :bash: (thats why I prefer the modern malls and shops outside Marrakechs Medina)

2) Its too warm for a Northern Moroccan like me, who is used to 27°C in Summer instead of 40°C !!

Agree that the salesmen are really annoying. Probably the reason why I wouldn't go back to Marrakech again. :(

Well, ignore them; if you do, they'll turn their back on you too :)

I hate this phenomenon in Marrakech, they think tourists will be more willing to buy that way. :ohno:

Actually its not in all Marrakech, but just one neighboorhood: The Medina (The old district)

Ok, then, draw your weapons and scare them :guns1: , hence they'll fly :D

I'm just teasing, if you just seem uninterested by their items they'll release you :)

Not for all, well not for me, I find much better places in Marrakech places to sightsee, did you try the Double decker tourist bus ?

try mexico these merchands are so demanding they think you must buy or else
we had to call cops a couple of time
the ones in mexico are far worst than the ones in morocco but same mentality
