wow..nice. will be a great addition to that part of town. the current forecourt is so bland and boring. this has already been launched?, it's been in the papers., anyhow i do hope it takes off!

March 20th, 2004, 06:19 PM
stage one what is being advertised currently what is selling off strata offices in the current office tower, and this is stage 2, a brand new apartment tower. I saw plans at the council meeting and was very impressed. the forecourt looks great! and thats the most important part ie. street intereacton

March 20th, 2004, 06:21 PM
from what i heard, the office tower will remain and upgraded. the new residental tower will be linked by walk ways so the 'theme' is to work in one tower and live in the next, hence a 'skygarden' will link the two. sounds pretty cool.

Looks awesome in the east end skyline. Finally something above the norm in the area. One thing though, the Sheraton is 90m tall and Evolution is 100m, it does seem taller than just 10m yeah??

Sheraton has always looked shorter than 90m to me. Mabey the angles it works at 90% of the time.
CULWULLA
March 26th, 2006, 11:48 PM
I think the render in the skyline is a bit generous, like most are when promoting new building.
Sheratons 90m height is taken from terrace rd. There is a 12m dif from st georges terrace, thus only 78m above st georges terrace.and take off the LMR ,thus height to roof is 75m (above st georges terrace)
Does anyone know if the height of st georges terrace goes up or down to Elevations location compared to Sheratons main entrance?
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1571/sheratonside1sl.jpg
its still the tallest hotel in perth after all these years (1973). when will it be surpassed by another hotel?
Dilaz89
March 27th, 2006, 05:13 AM
It is the same RL as Sheraton which is approx 12m from terrace rd. Its not really generous and is quite accurate i think.
It would be nice to seea new tallest hotel. We can support one ATM but nothing is planned.

here's an email that was sent to the tennants of GHD house, behind the Elevation site:
Due to a dispute between Rhodes Café and the construction company building a complex next to them, Rhodes Café are closing the back door of their café at 3pm today for the foreseeable future. Thus entry and exit to GHD house will not be possible via the ground floor and everyone will need to use the parking level.
Rhodes Café management were extremely apologetic but the dispute has arisen because the building company has not fulfilled its compensation obligations to the café.
GHD are aware of the situation.

^^ That's pretty screwed up... I went there for a meeting last week and I don't know how you would find the carpark enterence if you didn't work there. Also surely it would hurt the cafe's business if there wasn't direct access to the GHD building. Most of their customers were coming from there, not off the street. They must be mighty pissed off about something...
