Hmm I guess you dont get this alot, but people I know who arent from nyc always say you dont know a city pizza untill you have all the smog and dirty air on it.

You're right. The only reason I thought it was stretched vertically is because the roof of the Metlife tower looked steeper than I thought it was. But it actually is quick steep I guess.

Great pics Nexis, i have been there at night to see the skyline by night. The best place we found was the promenade at the grand hyatt. A tip for tourists who will go there, dont miss the WTC memorial in front of the colgate center. There are two beams laying straight on the floor and another bend one is spanning above them. I was shocked to see how big and bend this one beam was.

Outside Manhattan you mean? Its kinda of spotty in the other Boroughs , but it is improving. And Regional Rail / other cities are expanding there Transit networks.

Saying NYC should have a better transportation system is like saying London should have more churches.

NYC's transportation system is obviously not on par with say Tokyo or London. But it's still superb.

There's always room for improvement, but it's not like it isn't incredibly easy to get around in NYC.

The twins had charm out the ass simply because they were massive, imposing boxes. They were the brute strength of capitalism in physical form.

I want to remember them the way they were the first time I saw them and the last time I saw them. An imitation wouldn't make sense. In the end, they were a brief historical moment in NYC. Nothing humans build lasts forever.

lets build this downtown first so we can see and value its architectural value. for now and it's been 9 years we value a big hole in the ground, constant squabbling among owners and developers and have nothing but promises. Once and the whole thing is completed then we can honestly say that this is better than the old one. Old one was built and I did enjoy it in reality. the new one for now is only a dream waiting to happen.

If there's two cities in this planet that do not need any comment they are NYC and Paris...What could said about them? Everybody favorite cities...:drool:

I've never been to NYC, but I want to go there so bad and get a great feeling when I see pics or vids from it!

I've never been to Paris, but I don't care about it. Might be because I'm from Europe, but a lot of people that've been there don't realy like it.

It gets too overwhelming sometimes. The worst time to be in Manhattan is the week between Christmas and New Years because it is packed with tourists. The line for the Empire State Building goes around the block.

I wanna go there during New Year because that's my birthday. But I'm now doubting and thinking I should do it in the first week of december.

I was in Paris and NYC and IMO you can't compare this two cities with each other.

Wow, this is the most amazing city in the world. It's so diverse...not just in ethnicities, but also in diversities of opinions, ideas, and outlooks. :)

I love NYC!

J'adore New York. "La ville debout" disait Céline à son propos. Quand j'ai vu New York pour la première fois, j'ai compris que j'étais américain d'office pas seulement parce que tout tourne autour des Etats-Unis dans le monde occidental, mais également parce qu'on ne peut que vouloir être américain. Il y a le croqu'vite magnifique mais il y a tout le reste ! L'anarchie urbanistique apparente n'est qu'un élément, certainement pas le plus impressionnant. On n'a rien vu de NY tant qu'on n'a pas traversé Central Parc : là NY se dresse et s'illumine, NY regarde de haut et toise ses admirateurs, NY attend qu'une fourmi de plus s'insère dans son dédale sordide de rues minusculement larges et cependant hautes comme des cheminées d'usine. Et ça fume de toutes parts à NY. C'est probablement cela le plus extraordinaire : le halo qui baigne tout et rend fantomatique cet écheveau de verticales, dans la nuit et au large.
