mhe-ann September 7th, 2004, 02:03 PM  pics @pau. ryanr September 7th, 2004, 03:43 PM i just read the final posts of the former thread, where are the forum archives? and does that mean the Philippine sections post count is reduced by 739? Yup...I'm afraid so. I will move it this coming Sunday to forum archives, it will be safe from pruning over there. It is not only that thread i will send out, any thread over 500. I dont know if Thai, Malaysia, Singapore are doing the same thing, they should since it is Jan's instructions. renell September 8th, 2004, 07:58 AM ah ok. just going by the rules. but it would be unfair if we were the only ones doing it. Francis20 September 8th, 2004, 12:46 PM so could we access the archives? ryanr September 8th, 2004, 02:48 PM yeah i know... @ francis - yes, of course. It is in the main page. eNoZaNeWoR September 8th, 2004, 09:46 PM SORRY if this is off topic...but do they have carl's jr. in M.M.? Mc Donalds to me now is crappy!!! Jolibee is delicious still, let me know if there is a carl's jr. there. renell September 9th, 2004, 12:05 AM yeah. they have. it's not in large supply though. the only one i know exactly one, in Glorietta Floor, Level 3. renell September 9th, 2004, 12:20 AM btw ryan, we have numerous threads above 500, gonna take care of that soon? and looking at the thai forum, they have numerous threads above 500? i thought it was 700 before..... mysaong03 September 9th, 2004, 06:31 AM hi, there are actualy 8 branches of carls jr. in MM alone, mostly found in huge SM malls, & 1 in glorietta & lasalle. large middle-to-upper class malls like glorietta, robinsons ermita, & megamall usually have complete foreign food franchise tenants, like sbarro, country waffles, tgif, subway, cheesecakeetc., a&w, & alot more.... ryanr September 9th, 2004, 01:10 PM btw ryan, we have numerous threads above 500, gonna take care of that soon? and looking at the thai forum, they have numerous threads above 500? i thought it was 700 before..... Yes, im aware of that. I will close them soon. But i will talk to the other asian mods before i do so. Jan said the limit is 500.:) renell September 10th, 2004, 07:55 AM ok thanks for the explanation cheers. :) let's get back on topic. i can't post my last pics in MM because of some USB problem. so i guess i'm back to searching to web for Makati shots renell September 10th, 2004, 08:31 AM check out edmundtanso's photos in his gallery. unfortunately i can't hyperlink it http://edmundtanso.smugmug.com/gallery/136936/1/5001326 maybe edmund himself can. but they're great shots regardless Edmundtanso September 10th, 2004, 08:40 AM thanks renell ryanr September 10th, 2004, 09:06 AM Here's a nice photo from trekearth.com http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93tallest4.jpg renell September 10th, 2004, 09:21 AM hmm.. let me guess where's that from. definately not GT. RCBC, hmm... i doubt it. i'm guessing its from the Peak. it's a cool shot. rarely seen, but one of my favorites. i first thought it was a CGI image:D ryanr September 10th, 2004, 09:35 AM This picture confirms that the earlier picture is not from RCBC nor GT. Maybe the Peak. Taken by the same photographer in trekearth. Credits to "Kiko One" http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93Cityland_Salcedo.jpg Another photo, this time at night: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93PBcom_night.jpg renell September 10th, 2004, 09:44 AM checking Makati CBD map... HV De la Costa corner Valero..hey ryan how about looking at your pinkish CBD map? can't read the wordings in the online version Francis20 September 10th, 2004, 09:47 AM definitely not from the PEAK. Peak is along Leviste...and that one looks like its taken from near Salcedo Tower. Nice shots btw...nice night shots. i think it was taken from a tower along dela Costa. you must be thinking that Cityland is Cityland Herrera, not it's not Cityland Herrera. That's the Cityland beside GT Tower. renell September 10th, 2004, 09:53 AM of course it's not cityland herrera, it's not along herrera (now rufino i believe) :D could it be from the triangle roofed skyscraper? ryanr September 10th, 2004, 10:03 AM According to my map, either "Asian Center for Christian Ministries" or "Salcedo Tower". but more likely the former rather than the later. ryanr September 10th, 2004, 10:30 AM Here are some more photos from trekearth photographers: Petron Megaplaza http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93PetronMegaplaza.jpg ATO and Philam Life http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93ATO_Philamlife.jpg The view from PBcom http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93fromPBcom.jpg LKG and SMART http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93LKG_SMART.jpg Credits to trekearth and its members.:) amras September 10th, 2004, 10:39 AM wow! these are very nice pictures. maybe you can also post this in the Makati thread in the rate our skyline or in the asian forum. Francis20 September 10th, 2004, 01:27 PM LOL...GreyX, those are my pics...i mean pic 1, 2, 4...im a member of trekearth as well... you are quite forgetful man...:D ryanr September 10th, 2004, 01:34 PM :bash: doh! Indeed i am. There's just too many things in my mind lately. but not all of them are yours, right? ryanr September 10th, 2004, 01:35 PM nevermind...pics 1, 2 and 4 are yours:D Francis20 September 10th, 2004, 02:17 PM signs of getting old...hehehe...senelity probably.../jowk! :D ryanr September 10th, 2004, 02:27 PM hehehe...No! I'm still one of the youngest over here.:D Just too much stuff going on and all the work from school, etc. renell September 10th, 2004, 02:29 PM it has been 2 years since this forum was born... well almost.. sept. 10 right now renell September 10th, 2004, 02:30 PM According to my map, either "Asian Center for Christian Ministries" or "Salcedo Tower". but more likely the former rather than the later. this Asian Christian Center could be a that small in the far bottom left. it could be Salcedo Center (is that the triangle roof building?) ryanr September 10th, 2004, 02:38 PM Now that i looked at that picture again, i think it is from Salcedo Tower. Yes, Salcedo Tower is the blue trianglular building with a gap slicing through it from the top. It can be seen on this photo (the very left building right behind the Toyota dealership) http://www.skyscrapercity.com/photopost/data/500/93RCBC-Columns.jpg Edmundtanso September 10th, 2004, 09:40 PM nice photod guys! i like the photo with LKG and smart building. looks nice MixedMike September 11th, 2004, 02:43 AM wow! these are very nice pictures. maybe you can also post this in the Makati thread in the rate our skyline or in the asian forum. makati kick a**! hahha.. :) Francis20 September 11th, 2004, 08:15 AM those have been posted before...i think before the attack. just got no time to repost them again since i think they have been seen before anyway. renell September 11th, 2004, 09:13 AM i haven't seen your pics in high resolution before. i'll probably add that last francis pic in my website soon. Francis20 September 11th, 2004, 11:06 AM hahaha...the high resos are at pbase.com this is the url: www.pbase.com/alchemist8122 www.pbase.com/francis20 nway, here's one pic i found at clickthecity.com credits to the lensman whoever he is: http://clickthecity.com/img2/cityshots/20040911.jpg Lightspeed September 11th, 2004, 01:21 PM That's a very nice view of the Makati skyline taken from the BGC. We should actually be taking a lot of Makati or Ortigas skyline pictures from the BGC now as it is still largely empty. If the skyscrapers and high-rises start to populate BGC (which I'm not complaining about), there will be less places to shoot these charming skyline pictures. ryanr September 11th, 2004, 03:06 PM I like this picture. Its very colorful and clear. What a nice day, hardly any polution and nice blue sky. http://clickthecity.com/img2/cityshots/20040911.jpg renell September 12th, 2004, 01:44 AM what's that taller building in BGC? i think the small one is Boni Ridge, dunnoabout the taller one Francis20 September 12th, 2004, 07:49 AM that's Penhurst Parkplace which opened last month alongside with the goundbreaking of Kensington Place. ronnaveth September 12th, 2004, 08:42 AM wow... renell September 12th, 2004, 10:38 AM not too shabby. nothing special, but fills up the skyline :) was i right with the Boni Ridge guess? ronnaveth September 12th, 2004, 03:19 PM too bad they could have made ridge a bit taller MixedMike September 12th, 2004, 08:14 PM I like this picture. Its very colorful and clear. What a nice day, hardly any polution and nice blue sky. http://clickthecity.com/img2/cityshots/20040911.jpg haha u got that right. :) it reminds me of LA.. i like the grass too ryanr September 13th, 2004, 07:06 AM here's the link to the original Makati City in Pictures thread in the archives: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=96151 Francis20 September 13th, 2004, 09:25 AM that's Boni Ridge, right....if the photos were just shifted more to the left, you would see the two towers of Forbes Town Heights that are topped off. carlo pontevedra September 13th, 2004, 10:14 AM (Following are excerpts from Inquirer Newspaper September 13 Edition's Vic Agustin's "Columns") Buendia property play IT LOOKS like Buendia, instead of The Fort, promises a better property play for the Ayalas and the assorted owners of decrepit low-rise buildings lining up the avenue. According to Ayala Land, the whole block bounded by Buendia, Ayala, Jupiter/Metropolitan, and Edsa had been reclassified by the Makati City Hall as early as 2000 and had been included in the so-called Central Business District. And that is why the Ayalas are now building the Columns high-rise condominiums and a low-rise call center on what had for decades been empty lots at the Buendia-Ayala intersection. With the reclassification, the Ayala-imposed height restrictions had effectively been relaxed and, as Ayala Land now submits, "high-density office and residential developments" may now be built within the enlarged zone. As to the claim that a group of Buendia property owners bought their lands near the intersection in the '60s on the belief that they had park frontage, "Ayala has never made any representation in the deeds of sale... that the intersection were parks or were to remain as parks," said an Ayala Land statement. According to the grapevine, the Buendia property owners had already contacted Marcos presidential legal counsel Manuel Lazaro for a contemplated class suit against the Ayalas. Among the big name property owners along the Buendia strip include the Yuchengcos, the Zuelligs, the Concepcions and the Sys, the latter owning the used-car lots through seriously born-again Henry "Big Boy" Sy Jr. renell September 13th, 2004, 12:35 PM so where are exactly the boundaries of the Central Business District? sounds good. even the Ayala's still think more is still to be squeezed out of Makati CBD's potential. there's still the area around West of Ayala and ExportBank. Legaspi Park too carlo pontevedra September 13th, 2004, 01:32 PM I believe that the reclassification stretches from EDSA-Buendia (Bel-Air Village side, since the other side of the street is the residential Urdaneta Village enclave) up to the intersection of Buendia Ave. & SSH. With this development, several proposed high-rise projects on Buendia Avenue, among them the 40+storey building (name unknown) at the corner of Buendia and Chino Roces Avenue (across Urban Bank Plaza), might soon resume construction. Another 40+storey edifice pending construction is the Buendia Center. I also recall that, many years ago, the Concepcion Family planned to erect a 40+storey skyscraper corporate center on their property in Buendia (beside Zuelig Bldg). Lastly, Toyota Motors had planned before to set up their corporate center/showroom on Buendia Avenue, Bel-Air Village. It would have been another 40+storey building. But what I really want to see completed is the JAKA Tower. It's getting to be an eye-sore, and I just can't bear seeing it that way any longer. With Johnny Ponce-Enrile now back in the senate, let's hope that he'd be able to resume construction of his building. pau_p1 September 14th, 2004, 02:32 AM (Following are excerpts from Inquirer Newspaper September 13 Edition's Vic Agustin's "Columns") According to Ayala Land, the whole block bounded by Buendia, Ayala, Jupiter/Metropolitan, and Edsa had been reclassified by the Makati City Hall as early as 2000 and had been included in the so-called Central Business District. this confuses me.... the whole block bounded by Buendia, Ayala and EDSA is the whole Urdaneta Village... refer to the Makati CBD map.... or is it only the whole block of Buendia, Edsa, and Jupiter? http://www.asiatravel.com/gifs/mcbd.jpg renell September 14th, 2004, 07:51 AM there's a 40-something storey building around ExportBank? haven't heard of that one before. pau_p1 September 17th, 2004, 02:29 AM http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid139/p8d282d32f4d3975ab3e3d29024c07194/f6fd306b.jpg just noticed that the Enterprise Towers now have their top lights open the whole week round unlike before which are on the weekends.... I took this last night... and also the past nights it is lighted.... also notice that lighted crane... it is the Shang Grand... it has now passed the height of the smaller Enterprise Tower (2?)... it looks very big.... how tall would this be? will this be taller than the adjacent BSA? 'coz it looks very GRAND in height and width..... this seems to become the biggest tower in Makati (in floor area) renell September 17th, 2004, 08:52 AM well RCBC is the largest building in Makati (it think) in terms of floor area. not surprising, considering it takes up a whole fat lot. but yeah, the Shang does look very massive. what floor is it on? pau_p1 September 17th, 2004, 10:24 AM yeah RCBC.. I forgot about that.... hmmm.... I think its now in the 22nd-25th floor, I guess.... ryanr September 17th, 2004, 01:29 PM well RCBC is the largest building in Makati (it think) in terms of floor area. not surprising, considering it takes up a whole fat lot. but yeah, the Shang does look very massive. what floor is it on? It is actually the country's largest office complex:) Surpassing the Textite Towers. renell September 17th, 2004, 02:40 PM yeah RCBC.. I forgot about that.... hmmm.... I think its now in the 22nd-25th floor, I guess.... wow, only halfway, and already massive. :runaway: can't wait. 2005 ain't that far Francis20 September 17th, 2004, 03:04 PM it's now around the 30th floor. it looks massive bec of the expanse of one of its side. remember, it's shaped like a Z. so it looks massive when seen in some angles. Enterprise, i noticed this week, lights up till 1 in the morning. i noticed that for 2 days, so i assume they light up till that time everyday of the weekdays. @ Pau, Enterprise don't light up every weekend - Sat and Sun, as per my observations. pls correct me if im wrong. pau_p1 September 17th, 2004, 04:07 PM oh.. ok... i may have got that wrong... :D renell September 17th, 2004, 04:11 PM some calculations if it's as tall as Enterprise Tower Two right now 124/30=4.1333 4.1333x46=190.1333 :D wow, that's pretty tall;) Lightspeed September 18th, 2004, 01:21 AM Yah. Looking at the Makati skyline from the Buendia-EDSA flyover, the Shang Grand Tower can easily be spotted as it's already starting to soar! It really lives up to its name. pau_p1 September 18th, 2004, 04:24 AM http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid139/pff068c67bac26985bd4bb98cc1623163/f6fa6f6c.jpg renell September 19th, 2004, 02:51 PM hey guys i found my second CD of Makati pics. i'll post them soon, if you don't mind pics back from april. ryanr September 20th, 2004, 06:47 AM Shang Grand Tower is massive!! I hope it comes out looking tall rather than fat. Francis20 September 20th, 2004, 06:36 PM some of photos taken last week as promised. Makati Skyline...It's not yet dusk, just made it to look as such. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid140/pe6b44e7b9b7b019c8601ded925716567/f6f1dd3c.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid140/p0136773fc6dfc04cc44bc6c839b4082f/f6f1dd66.jpg Makati Avenue http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid140/pcf76cfc82ae8c725d3c1b1f95d6182ae/f6f1dd52.jpg Salcedo village from 20/F Citibank. I hide behind a park car so the guards of PCI Tower won't see me, and sneaked a shot of this...and hid the cam hastily, and walked away as if nothing happened, only to find out there are 3 guards behind me. :D I was laughing like nuts and walked away and take another shots. This time, it's ORT! Stubborn me...:D http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid140/pb3a29da64b245911ec2de90c35273559/f6f1dda5.jpg Four Season's U/C, What do you think? Gothic kind of atmosphere and the glass on those buildings create a cool effect. Francis20 September 21st, 2004, 06:15 PM HEHE...yes, plus it shows the better part of Citibank tower and the better (convex) part of Forbes tower. Before, on two sides there were commercial establishments like department stores, an integrated carpark, jeepney, shuttle, and bus terminal; and on the other two sides are office buildings. At first, there was just a small lagoon with a chapel in the middle, and a small mall. Lately, it's been developed as a mall (now containing four phases) that is well-integrated with the park. Most of the food establishments there have good views of the Greenbelt park, and many also have al fresco sections. mysaong03 September 24th, 2004, 04:32 AM its one of the classiest malls in the philippines, owned by ayala properties. and on the middle of it is the greenbelt park, u should see some photos of this mall previously posted here. twas ranked as one of the world's top ten last year in terms of its architectural design, u should really see it. :okay: Dvorak September 24th, 2004, 04:51 AM Greenbelt also has residential units.. very expensive units at that! pau_p1 September 24th, 2004, 07:35 AM basically Greenbelt is a portion of the Ayala Center where in four of its malls which are now considered to be among the most advanced and world-class establishment in the country. Greenbelt is composed of four malls (Greenbelt 1,2,3 and 4) which are interconnected to each other. And the renovated Greenbelt Park is situated in the middle of these four malls... the Greenbelt Chapel is situated in the center of the Greenbelt Park... Greenbelt 1 houses boutiques, fastfood, and cinemas... Greenbelt 2 houses fine dining restaurants and residential units... Greenbelt 3 has a state of the art cinemas, restaurants, and boutiques... and Greenbelt 4 houses first class boutiques like Prada, Louis Vuitton, etc and the new Ayala Museum... Francis20 September 24th, 2004, 01:02 PM Residential units of Greenbelt is called Residences at Geenbelt. it's connected to Greenbelt 3. It has a hirise counterpart named the same. Greenbelt 3's cinema's is one of the best in the country. I just wonder which one is better, Greenbelt's cinema's or Market Market's. Where exactly...? And with all the activity going on at the Buendia end of Ayala Ave. (E-services, The Columns) and the prestige of its newest high-rises (RCBC, PBCom, LKG, GT, etc.), I was wondering what they're gonna do about that building between Standard Chartered (after a vacant parking lot) and the u/c E-services (2?3?) building on Ayala. You know that building in front of Ayala FGU and Multinational? Is it condemned? Or did they just stop construction due to funding problems? It's an eyesore I must say. And isn't there a stipulation of some sort with ALI :ancient: :ancient: where you must finish construction of a building after a certain period otherwise it will be torn down? Francis20 October 5th, 2004, 01:16 PM Residences at Greenbelt below are actually unit houses. not services apartments. they are very expensive. probably as expensive as Serendra, but they have nice concept. the 5th level has a garden in it. so prior to the launch of the hi-rise version of this, Google would return you with the low-rise Residences. It's connected to Greenbelt 3, and that makes it more expensive. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid141/pdecf62675fc9a000a6b3cf998e3bd16a/f6c4bbd9.jpg pau_p1 October 5th, 2004, 03:16 PM yeah.. it's also a great use of land...:D nature vis-a-vis with development ryanr October 5th, 2004, 03:29 PM ^yeah...pau is right. Dvorak October 6th, 2004, 04:00 PM I agree with Francis.. it's actually called the RESIDENCES COMMUNITY.. low rise and high rise.. maybe there's a plan to connect the highrise to GreenBelt 2? I hope that doesn't happen. Francis20 October 6th, 2004, 04:51 PM KABOOM??? that's fun! haha... the hirise Residences complex is only a street away from G2 and G3. Keep me posted about this one as soon as info comes in. It would be odd or interesting, whichever you prefer, to see a hotel right smack in the middle of Ayala. Francis mentions tearing down Prudential. And most seem to predict that a lot of the older buildings will be demolished. Might have seen this site before. Never really took much interest in buildings until I stumbled on this forum. Now I'm always looking up. I just wished we are on a higher floor. Probably on the 30+ floor so i could see most of Fort Boni structures. Now, we're moving into a building which i suspect is way way older than the older Citibank Tower. |
