I have been building models since I was 9, so that was back in 1995, however I have been making paper/cardstock models since about sophomore year of high school, and that was in 2002. While I had built many of these models before out of paper and gluestick, I decided after I moved into this house (June 1, 2009) to revamp them. I started all over that day and every last one of those models is the result of about 15 weeks of work...

unfortunately due to my obsession with fire my collection frequently is reduced but nowadays my city is safe from fire until i rebuild a building, then it becomes time for the matches to come out at the moment my towering inferno city is emirates towers, first candian place, freedom tower, 7wtc, hsbc london, one chas manhattan thingo and when i build some more models it will increase, i have over 200 models in my city but only when i recreate a building it goes to my inferno city, don't worry about fires, my city has a fire extiguisher on hand and i do it in a very safe place in the middle of a large concrete garage, protected from everything that can catch on fire. i will get pics of my towering inferno's soon as well as my city.

I will have some pictures here soon. I'm the process of redoing some of mine so they are in the right scale, and I am also going to remake the oriental pearl. I came up with the idea of gluing the fecade pieces of the 3 balls to foam balls so they are perfect spheres. That will be in a little while after this rescaling issue.
After a building is removed from my city, I donate it to my little cousins and they put it into their city. They are always knocked over when I visit lol:). And they get somewhat destroyed slowly. Buy it gets them interested in this hobby and that's all I want.

I have went through a whole bottle of tacky glue, a bottle and a half of elmers glue, about half a stick of glue stick, and rrigjt now I am halfway through another bottle of tacky glue.

I buy glue before school starts because it's real cheap!

Where did you get the titanic and what rocket is that/where can I get it?

I got the Titanic from Currel's paper models and the "rocket" its from the same site but its call giant zeppelin or something like that.
About the Titanic model:I threw out some details from the models cuz they were too small and it was really hard to make it but the result is really beautiful...

Yeah....He's an amazing modeler but the parts are so small to cut...I wanted to try that one but i'm out of the colour (black one) ...

you just need some experience so you can cut tiny parts for the models.

what makes cutting tiny parts extremely easy is the use of exacto knives. im guessing you use scissors?

I use scissors and a box cutter to cut out the small parts of the buildings.

Yeah....I do use scissors...I do have the cutting knife but it's broken in half.....I have to buy it.....My grandfather has it but it's too big to cut something with it.....

thanx guys, i just used an old mp4 player and held it up with bluetack, great work nitsit, you r getting better and better. maybe you could oneday try to make the models on the computer at the same scale as the ones u already got

^^^, i sometimes use tape but not very often any more, i prefer to use glue

glue stick sometimes for large pieces and craft glue for smaller peices

Lue stick isn't good, there is like no stickybess to it! I used glue stick on my first ones, and the last time I used it was for the skytree at the top where you roll the tv transponder things. But other than that, I don't use it;)

I used to use a glu stick, but now I don't because it doesn't hold the buildings together.

Oh I forgot to tell you guys, I reached 200 buildings and my skytree is perfect! I haven't been told to take the city down yet, and I am also negotiating to maybe mix in his stuff with my city.

Also, today the Nakheel Tower was officially cancelled. What's quite a coincedence with that is on Thursday my nakheel tower fell and knocked over half of my city, so I took it out. I hope the action of me taking it out lead to the real one to be cancelled.

lol, i wonder if it did have anything to do with it, heres a little tip to stop accidents like that happening in the future, get some bluetack, only a very litle bit and put it in the corners of the base that way the building is rigid if i gets windy and but if you use too much the base may come off, it happened to me in my early days

firstly, go to imageshack.com. Upload the picture and copy the direct link to the picture. Then, come here and select "advanced" when you are going to post the picture(s). Find the spot where it says upload picture at the toolbar in the advanced post and cut the http already there. Then paste your link and it will put it into your post (your link surrounded by parenthesies with img in them, like HTML code). Then push post and your done;)

Nice models! btw heres a tip when building any papercraft: if you accidentally drop it DO NOT try to catch it in between your knees or else you may squish the model. let fall to the ground and then pick it up. i learned that the hard way

TThanks guys, I use UHU glue by the way, I duno if its the same as Rei's glue but its a yellow tube transparent glue that's very effective for models. If you screw something up you may still fix it within 15 minutes or so because the glue doesn't get hard that fast, yet still adequately sticky to keep the parts together within those 15 minutes.

I'll take a pic of the glue later (and OMG I only have like 1/3 a stick left) :D

I use tacky glue because sometimes with me the glue stick doesn't hold at all so I am stuck having to hold it together for five minutes but I do use stick once in a while

looks cool but maybe you should try using the same textures used on the rest of the model :) I use "pritt" white glue for my models

I may have an idea how we are gonna make the new spire...I will start designing immediately...but I need someone to accompany me in desgining, anyone want to? I would need a color scheme, the bottom lobby part (I will do the outside part of it, justt do the "inside" of the skirts), and a base. Any bidders, maybe?

what? Burj Dubai is just plain easy dude, lol. It's pretty much all sorted out for you, the page with the large tripod shaped thing is the base (obviously), then the one with the smaller tripods (there should be 2 of them) with tabs is what you put on top of the base. Next, the one that's the most messy forms the center of the Burj Dubai, while the remaining 3 pages are the 3 wings (2 of them should have 4 "slides", one of them with 5, but glue the one with the white tab to the shorter one beside it)
