Slightly larger than Vienna's network is Berlin's tram (third largest in world)

Lenght of lines: 300 km
Lenght of tracks: 190 km

Once before WW2 the tram had a length of 630 km. :bow: :eek:

The intresting thing is, that the Tram is mostly in the northwest of Berlin that was in the former communist state of Germany.

You're right, I never noticed it :lol:

The green ones are found in Parla, a suburb of Madrid.
The red ones, which are exactly the same as Murcia trams, serve several Madrid suburbs but belong to Metro Madrid (unlike Parla tram).

I wonder why they didn't change the color?--->.

For a city of the size of Cologne, you have a quite impressive light metro network. Too bad some underground stations are quite ugly and the ticket is too expensive (2.6 eur if I am not mistaken).

I looked it up and here is what I found.

The red ones (which are the same as Madrid's) were leased from Metromadrid (The local public company that operates rapid transit in Madrid) until 2011, when Murcia bought its own trams.

Here is the aspect that have the actual trams operating currently in Murcia--->

It's the 4th biggest city in germany, so of course it needs such a network. It's 2,50€ for the city ticket. But most people in cologne who use bus or tram have subscription tickets.
Currently some stations are being renovated and the new north-south underground line has been opened

Yea, I just realized I made a mistake. I should have been more "observant": the cabs in Madrid are not black, not that old and definitely not Japanese/Korean. :lol:

But as Gadiri explained it, some Buenos Aires trams are leased from Madrid.

You have posted Parla like if it were Madrid but they're different systems, the Parla tram is independent,

I've already explained it before. Parla is a suburb of Madrid that operates its own independent tram network (Because they deserve it, local politicians must think :lol:). But for me, having lived in Madrid for some time, Parla is still Madrid.

finally you haven't posted any pic of the actual Metro Ligero.

It doesn't really matter if the pics are taken in Madrid, Murcia or Buenos Aires. The trams belong to Madrid and are the ones used currently in Madrid, and since we're talking about trams and not cities per se, that's what really matters.

But if you talk about the Madrid system the Parla tram is not part of it, they're different systems, although Parla is in Madrid its tram is 100% independent.

J'aime bien le tram d'Alger. Ce qui me gêne en revanche, et cela est valable pour les 3 trams algériens, c'est qu'on a l'impression que les finitions sont de mauvaise qualité (trottoirs, jointures, dallage): on voit souvent des traces de ciment, des dallages qui ne sont pas droits...
Sinon sur la photo d'Oran, les caténaires sont justes ENORMES...ils sont fous ou quoi? Ils font aussi office de lampadaires, mais quand même. Ca a l'air d'être une rue passante, y'a du monde et le trottoir est minuscule...

Je crois que dans l'avenue Mohamed 5 de Casa ils ont opté pour des caténaires supportées par les facades d'immeubles. C'est bien mieux. J'y suis passé au printemps mais seule la plateforme était finit.

Oui, heureusement on a eu de la chance sur ce coup là !

Sinon concernant le tram d'alger, j'aime bien le fait que les voies soient pavés, concernant le design du tram celui d'oran est jolie, plus que celui d'alger qui est assez insipide/fade.

Au début à Rabat, un forumer appellé filsdugrand (aussi Mouamim) nous a raconté que c'était prévu d'avoir une circulation du tram au milieu des véhicules. Mais que cela a été décliné.

Si tu regardes aujourd'hui, les tramways se font sur des voies dédiées (TCSP, transport commun site propre) et sont aussi plus long que les tramways historiques plus petits qui évoluent dans les rues plus étroites.

Brésil : Vossloh va livrer 22 tramways à São Paulo

L’allemand Vossloh a annoncé, le 13 décembre, que le consortium qu’il a formé avec le brésilien T’Trans avait remporté un contrat de 90 millions d’euros pour la fourniture de 22 Tramlinks V4 au réseau de la compagnie de transports urbains de São Paulo. Les véhicules affichent une capacité de 400 passagers et une vitesse maximale de 70 km/h. Les livraisons sont prévues entre 2013 et 2014.

Alstom a annoncé le 13 février avoir finalisé un contrat avec Rideau Transit Group (RTG), le consortium qui pilote le projet de la première ligne de tram-train d’Ottawa. Elle sera longue de 12,5 km, dont 2,5 en tunnel, et sera jalonnée de 13 stations. Le montant total du projet s’élève à 1,5 milliard d’euros (la part du groupe français sera de 400 millions d’euros). Alstom va fournir 34 rames Citadis Spirit de haute capacité, des matériels adaptés aux conditions climatiques rigoureuses de la capitale canadienne. Le groupe assurera également la maintenance du matériel roulant pour une durée de 30 ans. Selon Guillaume Mehlman, président d’Alstom Transport pour la région Amérique du Nord, ce « projet marque l’entrée réussie d’Alstom sur le marché nord-américain du tram-train ». La mise en service de la ligne est prévue en 2018.

Ouverture du tramway d'Oran

Le premier tronçon du tramway d'Oran, deuxième ville d'Algérie, a été inauguré mercredi et relie sur 18,7 km les plus grands quartiers de l'agglomération oranaise. Dans un premier temps 32 stations faciliteront les transports dans cette ville de plus de 600.000 habitants.

L'exploitation et la maintenance de la ligne seront assurées, pour une durée de 10 ans, par la Setram, société commune constituée de RATP Dev, filiale du Groupe RATP (Régie autonome des Transports parisiens), de l'Entreprise du Métro d'Alger (EMA) et de l'Etablissement Public de Transport Urbain et Suburbain d'Alger (ETUSA).

Le coup de sifflet inaugural a été donné à 9h30 environ, avec une incroyable cohue se précipitant vers les premières voitures. Le ministre algérien des Transports Amar Tou, le préfet d'Oran Abdelmalek Boudiaf et le PDG du groupe français RATP Pierre Mongin sont montés à bord du convoi inaugural.

Un tram toutes les 4 minutes

La mise en service commerciale du tramway d'Oran, dont le coût de la construction de la première tranche s'est élevé à 400 millions d'euros, est prévue jeudi à 05h00. Vingt-cinq rames fonctionneront quotidiennement à partir de cette heure et jusqu'à 23h00, avec une fréquence de toutes les quatre minutes aux heures de pointe. A terme, le tramway devrait transporter quelque 90.000 personnes par jour, selon la RATP, sur un parcours de 41 km environ, avec 40 stations.

Le tramway oranais "bénéficie des dernières avancées technologiques, garantissant confort, sécurité et accessibilité. Ses rames sont équipées de climatisation, de vidéo-protection et de planchers bas permettant l'accessibilité des personnes à mobilité réduite", souligne la RATP dans un communiqué. La construction de la première ligne du tramway d'Oran s'est accompagnée de plusieurs aménagements urbains.
