Let me post some pics of our neighbors to the south.
Tijuana is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico with only 100 years of history.

The city of Tijuana has lots of contrasts. Yet it has a pretty nice areas with good hotels, restaurants, gardens, malls and... some towers.

These are nice photos of the city!

The important thing in this city is to improve SECURITY. That would bring many more visitors and investments, because it is very close to the richest state of the richest country in the world.

6.5/10

How on earth is TJ's ranking so high? It is ahead of Vancouver and Auckland. I've been to TJ many times. It doesn't have much of a skyline. Very few medium height bldgs and no very talls. Strange score for this thread. I'm sorry to say that this thread tarnishes the credibility for the entire forum. No one promised me it would be full proof. But reality bites.

Hey how dare you call me ignorant!! It's stupid to call me that because of what I think of Tijuana's skyline because believe me I'm not lieing to myself because I really hate it's skyline that much and that's just my oppinion!!! Ok the city might be a very friendly and clean place to live and other good things but that has nothing to do with what I think of it's skyline!! Because honeslty this poll is only for it's skyline not how good you think the city is!!!

Well, it seems that some people don't know nothing about Tijuana, in the first place let me tell you that is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, in 25years we are going to duplicate the number of inhabitants to 3 millions, but the size is going to be superior in a lot of ways, because the people that inmmigrates don't have the money to pay a new house or used house the build they own outside the city, this city grows like Cairo in Egipt, Horizontally, not in a Vertical way, so the pair of skylines you see there are rare in this city, but not in the neightborg one, San Diego California, well, another thing I can tell you is that it's being bulilt the 3rd in the world tallest cathedral, after the Sagrada Familia in Spain and anotherone that hasn't been built in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, México, it's a fast growing city, and it's kind of a new one, it has only 115 years, well, that's it, if someone have questions or stuff, tell me.

Last time I visited Tijuana was almost 10 years ago so I really dont know if the cit modernized from then. But as of 10 years ago I wouldn't even bothe with the city. But it looks ALOT better than how it was from the pics. Personally I hate all border cities (both mexican and american) excet for San Diego.

Although, I've only been to the city twice in my 13 years of terrestrial existance, the twins do look awfully tall from their base. Tj is a city with a very urban tone, and fast pased too. The skyline is a bit dissapointing, but you have to take in mind that the city is in a poor country, and that it's only less than a hundred years old.

All I see is the enormous difference between social classes. From what I see in the pictures, you're either a rich man living in some condinium or poor and living in some small hut.

Most of you have a grown idea about TJ. Drug lords prefer to build houses o make another kind of bussiness, but they dont build buildings. Most of them arent from the city, they are, like 50% of the population, from another part of Mexico or of the world. You should visit our forum:

I dont have numbers but you are right. A lot of people cross the border daily, it could be to TJ or USA. SD of course, is more expensive than TJ.

All I see is the enormous difference between social classes. From what I see in the pictures, you're either a rich man living in some condinium or poor and living in some small hut.

I have a strange feeling the skyscrapers are all built by mafia lords, but I'm probably wrong since I don't know jack-shit about the place.

After the Mexican Revolution ended my great grandfather came to live in this small town of Tijuana with a few wooded houses that reminded you of a wild west town.
Well in reality thats what it was, in this small dusty town of wooden sidewalks and gas lamps with busy bars and saloons and federal military fort, and its local jail was one of the last wild west towns in North America, you could find the new land owners most of them Immigrants to this land some from Jalisco state other from Northen Mexico, some Italians,Japanease,German,English and Chinese made up this wild west town, you could cross the purely artificiall frontier to the U.S. with no papers and manny did since most of the provision came from the U.S.,Mexico City was to far away and even the population was not familiar in the use of mexican currancy, every thing was in U.S. dollars, all the buildings in the city where built in the American style and not in the traditional Mexican way of building even the planning of the city was based on a American city plan.

Im a 3rd Generation Tijuana born citizen, and yet in my life i lived many years in Beverly Hills,CA and in the City of La Paz BCs and they all have there own charm and beauty, but none the less i always belived this city of Tijuana to be my thru home.
To many it might seem ugly at a first glance but theres much more to it then a regular city,Tijuana its unique full of flavor and color, even Mexicans dont understand it,and its often refer as Tijuana the thrid nation.

I agree with many people that they say its ugly at first glance, you would need to lived in Tijuana a few years to beging to understand its beauty. and fall in love with it,its like been in loved with an ugly woman.

Yes there many poor areas of Tijuana since we have VERY FAST immigration rate, but most of the people dont live in condos or in huts,we live in houses ,i my self live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house, kithchen laundry room and big front yard with my dog,my family is traditional midle class Mexican family like most in Tijuana and in Mexico, and about druglords well i never had come across one,and in my many years living here i never been robed or been a victim of crime ,thank god for that.

Heres some old post Cards.

6.5 A few tall skyscrapers that are spread out. It's not a terrible skyline, but still not great. BTW some people need to tone down their comments, this is a SKYLINE rating thread not a 'how shitty I think this place is' thread. There's no need to start talking about drug lords or mafia bosses, they have nothing to do with the appearance of the skyline.

Its better than Juarez.....

As Mexico develops...will Tijuana see more development and modernise, with demand for office space and higher liveing conditions? Or does it seem that it will struggle for a long time with its "catch-up" development...ie. never getting better just barely keeping up?

The person who proposed Tijuana must be very enthusiastic, the city is horrible, and i know what Tijuanenses gonna say, has a big PIB one of the best in the country, but when i go to Tijuana the image doesnt reflect that.

Its the most caotic city ive ever been, the climate feels like insecurity.

I hope this can be improved.
