Emaar International Jordan, the subsidiary of Emaar Properties and developer of Samarah Dead Sea Resort, has made progress on the construction of Samarah Dead Sea Resort. Excavation and blinding concrete for three buildings within Rift Living – a key component of Samarah Dead Sea Resort - have been completed and foundation work is progressing. Leading Jordanian contractors are working on the project, which will further energize the tourism potential of the region. Samarah Dead Sea Resort is in line with the growth plan for Jordan as outlined by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development. Mr Nabil Zard Abu Jaoude, Managing Director, Emaar International Jordan, said: “Samarah Dead Sea Resort is a pioneering master-planned community that sets new benchmarks in construction and architectural practices in the Kingdom. Pursuing LEED certification for a component within the project is one of the several steps we have taken to attain our sustainable developmental objectives.” He added: “We are currently on-going with the construction work of Samarah Dead Sea Resort with a team of skilled personnel on-site. We have planned the construction schedule and contractor mobilization to achieve our targets and deliver homes within Samarah Dead Sea Resort on time.” Rift Living is located directly on the Dead Sea, adjacent to the waterway and across Wadi Mukheiris from the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre and Samarah Dead Sea Resort Sales Centre. It features nine low rise buildings (The Apartments) located on the seafront comprising 223 Mediterranean-styled multi-family apartments. Amenities include walkways, neighborhood shopping and easy access to a full-fledged Club House. The sale of homes within Rift Living has been launched to strong response from Jordan and internationally.
Emaar International Jordan has opened its corporate office in Amman at the Rabia Towers, and a fully-equipped Sales Centre, the first of its kind in the Kingdom. Several contracts have been awarded to leading Jordanian contractors to undertake the construction of the project. Press release

lealfonse May 24th, 2010, 11:15 PM Emaar International Jordan launches Mediterranean-style apartments in Samarah Dead Sea Resort
Jordan: Sunday, May 23 - 2010 at 16:07
Emaar International Jordan is launching a new collection of stylish Mediterranean styled apartments within Rift Living in the Samarah Dead Sea Resort, the master-planned community owned by The Dead Sea Touristic and Real Estate Investment Company, formed by Emaar Properties PJSC along with a group of regional and Jordanian investors, in line with the growth plan for Jordan as outlined by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development.
The new phase of apartments overlooking the Dead Sea will be launched on May 25, 2010. Potential customers can choose from the luxuriously finished one, two and three-bedroom homes ranging in size from 76 sq m to 148 sq m, and priced competitively with special promotions offered for early buyers.
The new phase of apartments are scheduled for completion by end of 2011 with the first phase of apartments currently being completed and ready for hand over to customers at the end of September 2010. With several residences in the final stages of completion, potential customers have the opportunity to choose from a range of different types, location and prices.
Mr Peter Titus, General Manager, Emaar International Jordan, said the launch of the new apartment collection at Samarah Rift this week is an integral residential component of the overall masterplan and follows the significant progress achieved with the first phase of the Samarah Rift Living.
"The first three buildings of Rift Living in the residential gated community of Samarah Rift are scheduled for hand over later this year. The delivery of this first phase of apartments is a testament to Emaar's promise to offering affordable luxury lifestyle living to their customers across the region. Early buyers can also benefit from flexible payment terms."
He added: "The apartments in Samarah Dead Sea Resort offer several distinctive advantages of being only 45 minutes away from Amman and can serve as both a primary home as well as an ideal vacation and weekend retreat for customers who value the resort ambience of the Dead Sea region. The ready to move into apartments also offer residents modern amenities in addition to spectacular views of the Dead Sea."
The Dead Sea region is one of the most-sought after locations for holiday homes across the region. Additionally, the focus of the government to strengthen tourism and business in the region has increased customer interest for world-class homes, which will be met by Samarah Dead Sea Resort. "Market research shows that customers look for Dead Sea views, the amenities and ease of access, when making a purchase decision. Samarah Dead Sea Resort fits their requirements in all these three criteria," explained Mr Titus.
The Samarah Rift community is a luxurious complex with its design and construction features drawing on the natural aesthetics of the surrounding environment. It is located directly on the Dead Sea, adjacent to the waterway, and exactly across the rift from the King Hussein Convention Centre (KHCC). Residents will have easy access to the Samarah Beach, the Spa and Wellness Village, as well as the Samarah Rift and Retail Village and neighbouring five star hotels.
Community amenities include walkways, swimming pools, beach, gym, barbeque areas and neighbourhood shopping and dining facilities at the Samarah Rift Retail Village, which is scheduled to start construction shortly. The fully finished and ready to live in apartments offer spacious living and dining areas, en-suite bathrooms, fitted kitchens and large outdoor balconies or terraces that overlook the picturesque Dead Sea.
With the expansion of the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre that is an integral part of Samarah Dead Sea Resort, the Samarah integrated lifestyle community is positioned to become the leisure and residential hub of Jordan.

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Dead Sea Resorts PSC for the new-build Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa in Jordan, scheduled to open in Q4 2013.
As well as the existing King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, the 285-room new-build waterfront resort is located on the east coast of Jordan overlooking the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.
“We are delighted to have signed this management agreement with Dead Sea Resorts PSC for our first property on the Dead Sea,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide.
“This stunning resort will truly complement our two hotels under construction in Amman and Aqaba. Jordan is an important market for us in our regional development strategy, and we look forward to providing business and leisure travellers with group offers linking the three destinations.”
The Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa is part of Emaar International Jordan’s Samarah Dead Sea Resort, an integrated community which will also house 1000 residences, retail and leisure facilities. The hotel’s location within this development is the North Rift, adjacent to a Wadi (a valley) on the Dead Sea waterfront.
Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa will feature seven food and beverage outlets including three restaurants (all-day dining, and two specialty outlets) and four bars. Leisure facilities include a health club, spa, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a kids club.
The hotel will also house two meeting rooms of 100m˛ each, a business centre and Hilton Executive Lounge. With almost 5000m˛ of meeting space and 23,000m˛ of built-up area spread over three stories comprising 27 meeting rooms, the Convention Centre is one of the largest in the region.
“Hilton offers travellers world-class resorts, and the Hilton Dead Sea Resort & Spa is an exciting addition to our leisure portfolio. By combining a prime location in an integrated community with signature Hilton style, amenities and services, we are creating a premium experience,” said Dave Horton, Global Head, Hilton Hotels brand.
“This resort will not only serve the region’s growing healthcare tourism sector, but will become a destination for the meetings segment as well.”

lealfonse November 30th, 2010, 01:17 PM Samarah Dead Sea Resort hosts Media and Homeowners to Experience Rift Living
Delivery of homes in Samarah Rift has commenced this month
Construction of phase two has started with work of building D
Amman, Jordan: Emaar International Jordan, the developer for the Samarah Dead Sea Resort, recently invited new owners, prospective owners and their families to enjoy a day of Rift living at the Dead Sea. The fun family event took place during Eid Al Adha to showcase the finished buildings and the model apartments that are now available.
The Samarah Dead Sea Resort is owned by the Dead Sea Touristic and Real Estate Investment Company, a venture of Emaar Properties PJSC and a group of regional and Jordanian investors. The resort is a residential, retail and leisure project developed in line with the growth plan outlined by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development and developed by Emaar International Jordan.
Rift Living, located on the Dead Sea near the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center (KHBTCC), consists of six low rise buildings known as 'The Rift Apartments'. The Dead Sea's newest buildings are one, two, and three bedroom units, with the community featuring a Beach Club, swimming pools, and gym. In addition to the 115 new units, dining and shopping facilities are integrated in the community. Three of the six buildings are now available for homeowners.
The construction contract for the second phase of Rift Living, the remaining three buildings, was awarded to the Hussein Atieh Establishment (HAE) company this month. HAE, a Jordanian company, received the contract due to their record of timely project completions in the Kingdom.
Emaar assigned three buildings in Rift Living to HAE, thus creating jobs and boosting the economy in Jordan. Mr. Tarik Awad, Vice Chairman, The Dead Sea Touristic and Real Estate Investment Company, and Mr. Hussein Atieh, General Manager of Hussein Atieh Establishment Company (HAE), signed the contract agreement in Amman.
Mr. Peter Titus, General Manager for Emaar International Jordan said: "We are proud to announce the on-time completion of the first phase of Rift Living Apartments. Our new contractor for the second phase, HAE, is working hard to ensure that buildings D, E, and F are completed on time as well."

Throughout November, the three completed Rift Living buildings (buildings A, B, and C) were opened to guests and homebuyers. The Samarah buildings were delivered on time as promised. Rift Living features Mediterranean-style multi-family apartments with modern high quality finishes and fittings, an outdoor balcony or terrace, central air-conditioning, and parking spaces, in addition to green common areas, pools and other community facilities.
A majority of the new units have already been purchased by Jordanian families, who were invited for a barbeque and tour of the new facilities during Eid. In addition to children's entertainment, guests also viewed model apartments, and other amenities within the development. The media also received an invitation to view Samarah's Rift Living community after the holiday.
The family day and media tour allowed guests to experience the unique lifestyle created at the new resort. Guests were also able to see the progress on the construction of Building D in the second phase. Rift Living is an all-encompassing, multi-functional community with opportunities for year-round entertainment complementing the existing Convention Center and hotel resorts in the area. The construction of a new 285-room hotel will also commence in 2011 consolidating the life style living offering at the Samarah Resort.
