Makurdi International Sheraton Hotel

5 Star Hotel with over 380 Chalets

This Photo is supposedly a failed Hilton Project in Plateau State, but it looks to me that it could actually be the Sheraton in Makurdi

Can anyone dispel this claim or confirm it?

The Hotel

Name: Makurdi International Sheraton Hotel
City: Makurdi (Benue State)
Use: Leisure
Status: U/C
Floors: 11F

Benue, he said, must be first among equals in the comity of states in Nigeria and this is the vision of his administration and has continued to guide the administration’s actions. He said air travel is no longer a luxury but a necessary nexus around which such an economic component of the global village revolves.

He called on investors to invest in the hospitality industry in the state to gain from the influx of people into it. He disclosed that his administration was discussing the completion of the Makurdi International Sheraton Hotel with investors.

In his remarks, Alex Nwuba, managing director of Associated Aviation Limited, pledged that his company was committed to the development and support of the aviation industry in the state.

Describing development as a jigsaw puzzle, he said: “We need the right pieces in the right place at the right time,” saying that one missing piece renders the entire jigsaw incomplete. “With the resumption of flights, we’ve put in place a major piece that will lead to the development of the state,” he said, pointing out that what will follow will include the creation of employment opportunities for indigenes as well as exploitation of the state’s potentials.

I thought this project was abandoned in the 1980s (or 90s). It was begun at the same time as the Abuja Sheraton Hotel.

Yeah it was abandoned and they have started the project again recently. The Governor wants to complete all the projects.

I applaud the governor's effort. I just hope it is a private development and that the hotel is economically viable.
