Nothing is a tourist trap more than Little Italy.
You feel as if you are in "The Godfather" movie, and I don't mean the "real" movie, but the fake, cinematographic set :)
Restaurants with chinese-eyes faces inside use names of some random italian places, and cook dishes in the way the tourists think the italian cousine is.
I don't know, maybe in the Godfather era it was more authentic, but now I'm afraid that it has been incorporated into Chinatown.
I've been told that the real Little Italy has moved into the Bronx, but I can't remember the exact area.

Naples invented pizza, others made it good, New York made it the best :D.

LOL when I rented a bike at South Street Seaport, the guy told me: ...and here in Brooklyn you can eat the best pizza in the world! Ok, now give me your ID... oh, you're from Naples... forget about it then :lol:

I hope chinatown can maintain a bit of its scale and character as the financial district and other commercial interests encroach

where the mobsters (wannabes) reside...

or would it be the mafia....

I love Little Italy, Chinatown is wayyy too touristy with the knock-off bags and watches lolll

the China Town is another china in New York city and the Little Italy is one of the best place in New York city .the variety of Chinese and Italian food you got here you can,t any where in USA .
