nazret.com - Last week Addis Ababa based Reporter, wrote that Sunshine Construction is to sign an agreement with Marriott International to build Ethiopia's first Marriott hotel and Executive Apartment to be managed by Marriott. The paper said, "Senior Marriott executive to come to Addis to sign franchise deal with Sunshine"

nazret.com contacted Marriott International to confirm the story and in an email response, Marriott denied the report. Marriott told nazret.com that, "Marriott International is keen to establish presence in Ethiopia and we are actively seeking opportunities to work with development partners there.

At the present time however, we haven’t concluded the agreements for any hotels in Ethiopia and I am afraid the report you are referring to in the local paper is inaccurate. We will make sure to let you know if and when those projects are confirmed".

nazret contacted Sunshine Construction but received no response.

Do you guys think that 'The Reporter' are blatantly lying, or are Marriott International just being careful to announce anything that hasn't been signed yet..

EDIT: This thread probably belongs in "Projects and construction", sorry for posting it here!

I don't believe sunshine construction at all cause this is not the first time they state that Marriott will manage the hotel, but I could be wrong.
