7 World Trade March 27th, 2004, 02:01 AM well, here's what i think:
1. bionic tower: just a visionary city in a skyscraper design, like x-seed 4000 of japan. the technology to build something that gigantic won't come for at least 25 years, maybe longer.
2. chongqing tower: its a stale proposal according to sspage.com. maybe it'll get built once the 3 gorges dam get completed and chongqing's economy develops more.
3. swfc: either its still on hold, or foundation work's going slowly. dont think anything big's going in it though, if it is someone would of came forward with pics.
4. union square phase 7: dont really know, but foundation work has been going on for more than a year now, and it's probably a few floors above ground right now if the project is not on hold.
5. dalian intl trade center: contruction is happening, but it only recently started so it should be still underground. as for pics, just wait till mainland chinese forumers to see ur post.
6. north bund tower: from my understanding, the complex is under construction, and a project that big probably is being built in phases. it should get built, since the project was approved, but probably the tower won't go up until the developers get to the phase it's in.
7. wanguo building: don't know about this one. guess we just have to wait until a skyscraper website operator get into tianjin and start gathering more info about individual buildings.
8. intl conf and exhib center: never heard of this. ask a mainland chinese forumer.
oh yeah, im also interested about the current progress on wtc tianjin. anyone got pics or info on its current state?
RafflesCity April 9th, 2004, 10:12 AM impressive, wish there could be more forthcoming news on such projects, or is it a habit to make grand announcements and not follow up?
perthguy78 May 28th, 2004, 03:42 AM its a habit in china.. just make alot of announcements... to get publicitly
Pangu May 28th, 2004, 04:10 AM When I was in Shanghai last winter, I saw the construction site of the SWFC. They seem to be building but going slowly.

Hm...quite a number of people have confirmed it is supposedly U/C. But as you say, it seems to be light preperation work only?

dcb11 August 17th, 2004, 04:50 AM SFWC and Union Square Phase 7 are both in the very early stages of construction. You won't really see much at the site.
Here's what I saw of the SWFC:
