Gliding through the best of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, Eastern and Oriental Express (E&OE) promises an intimate journey through the heart of the Far East in a luxury train ride harkening back to the nostalgic Colonial age for their 2009 Summer Schedule.

On board the train, guests reside in fully furnished, cherry wood and elm burr panelled cabins complete with air conditioning, en-suite shower and 24-hour steward service.

The Summer Schedule offers two major routes. The traditional route trundles between Singapore and Bangkok with stops at historical sites such as Fort Conwallis and River Kwai.

For those keen on exploring the diverse kingdom of Thailand, the alternative Thai route travels between Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Si Satchanalai and Lampang with excursions such as handicraft workshops interspersed in between.

Of course, the action does not solely happen out of the train. Refurbished with amenities including an observation deck, library and a bar complete with a piano, the luxury train is a getaway in itself topped off with amazing sights all around. Guests are encouraged to embrace the old-world romance of the train and soak in the atmosphere of relaxed refinement.

any idea where i can find out how much a trip for two would be.

It would be nice to have an old-world rail journey. A KTM intercity coach wouldnt be the same....^^

Cheers, m
