haggiesm October 2nd, 2009, 11:11 AM very nice. doesn't look like a 40thousand seater to me but really compliments the location.
NMAISTER007 October 2nd, 2009, 12:31 PM Mars 2009?
www.sercan.de October 2nd, 2009, 12:46 PM Genua stadium :)
really nice. But somehoe the infield looks big to me.
Luke80 October 2nd, 2009, 02:39 PM How about a pitch and some seats! Where are the workers?
Gecko1989 October 2nd, 2009, 03:49 PM Man they have been building this thing for the last like 5 years.
amine2 October 3rd, 2009, 02:21 AM Man they have been building this thing for the last like 5 years.
there's no hurry ;)
ReiAyanami October 3rd, 2009, 02:25 AM If there is a building in the world that is being build in the middle of nowhere, this is it. You can't say for sure if the stadium is real when you get there, might be a mirage for all you know.

There will be an athletic track.
Did they stop working on this? Not much happened between march and september.
Carrerra October 3rd, 2009, 07:35 PM Athlectic track on rectangular ground? That's ridiculous...
lpioe October 4th, 2009, 01:59 AM ^^ I think so too...
Here is a render:

Any other athletic stadium with rectangular stands?
Side October 4th, 2009, 03:18 AM Good job :okay:
I wish the world cup 2010 would be held in Marrocco instead of South Africa
Luke80 October 4th, 2009, 02:55 PM  both at the last comment and at how ridiculous this stadium will be with that track. It would have looked great for a football only stadium.
Clearly the designers never came across the phrase "square peg in a round hole"!
Luis87 October 4th, 2009, 06:05 PM I like the stadium. It´s looks like Genoa stadium inside!
renco October 4th, 2009, 08:29 PM ^^ I think so too...

Tetwani June 22nd, 2010, 12:15 AM a shame about the track... Untill I read about that I realy liked the stadium.
Morocco is a poor country, we can't afford to build stadiums without tracks. Eventhow, we still have the second best sport infrastructure in Africa after South Africa
lukaszek89 June 22nd, 2010, 02:26 AM unusuall and nice stadium:yes:
tboy800 June 22nd, 2010, 04:44 AM I think that it looks like an abandoned stadium
rafamlopes June 22nd, 2010, 05:40 AM Morocco is a poor country, we can't afford to build stadiums without tracks. Eventhow, we still have the second best sport infrastructure in Africa after South Africa
It doesn´t make any sense.
Mr. Fitz June 24th, 2010, 02:24 AM Surely it would cost less to build a stadium without a track?
RaduB June 24th, 2010, 07:57 AM but what will you do if you need a stadium for athletics? Built another? instead of one stadium you'll need two stadiums, that's way he says they can't afford to built a stadium with track!
Mr. Fitz June 26th, 2010, 02:20 AM Yeah I knew that, but that wasn't the question. I just hate stadiums with tracks that will be mostly used for football as all.
Gadiri June 26th, 2010, 09:35 PM Yeah I knew that, but that wasn't the question. I just hate stadiums with tracks that will be mostly used for football as all.

Mr Fitz, says the true. It will mainly be used for football.
And every big stadium as an annex stadium. We have Casablanca, Rabat and Fes with a track. It's enought. But Tangiers and Agadir and Marrakch as also a track. It's to much.
It will be a better idea to have a football 45 000 seats, and an annex stadium of 10 000 places with a track. Because, attendance for athletic is not important.
But they maid a mainly athletic stadium with a football annex stadium. The cost is more expensive like said Mr Fritz.

Indeed a beautiful stadium but given its rectangular shape, its views are going to be even poorer than those of a bowl shaped stadium with a running track....

This stadium its the track version of Luigi Ferraris definetly

Yup, 45,240 is official, but we've heard from other forumers that the seats may be smaller than the usual, but I will wait till the inauguration to see since "officially" the stadium is supposed to meet all the FIFA's last requirements for major soccer venues and the IAAF's for major athletic sports ;)

Remember some finals : Berlin 2006 (70 000) and Yokohama 2002 (70 000)
Final : + 70k
Semi final : + 60k
Inaugural : + 60k
1/4 : + 45k

Final : Casa new stadium 70-80k
Semi Final : Casa new stadium and Tangier (extended from 45 000 to 69 000)
Inaugural : Casa-Rabat-Tangier. Marrakech was proposed for 2010 with 60 000, but no is 45 000.

http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3479/stademarrakech.jpg (http://img440.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stademarrakech.jpg)

http://i61.servimg.com/u/f61/12/21/78/98/ok-mar10.gif

Then we probably wont host a world cup ! I Don't mind us building average looking new stadiums as long as they fit our budget and local needs, But I'm totally against spending the tax payers money on some 500 Millions $ White Elephants that no one will use after the WC ( Like South Africa for example, at less, financially speaking, Qatar can afford to do so )

no one talks about 2026 , if we will put a candidature for 2026 , there will be for sure other stadiums , it's just for now some cities need big stadiums such as Marrakech , Tangier and Agadir , and they can be used for the African cup of nations
