A NEW R80-million, 19-room boutique hotel on the Wilderness seafront will be opening its doors in November.

The Views Boutique Hotel is the second phase of entrepreneur Theo du Toit’s project, which includes a cliff-top residential and holiday-home complex completed in 2002, and a shopping complex in front of the hotel, due for completion in the first quarter of 2010.

The hotel, which will employ about 80 staff, includes the only restaurants in Wilderness to have sea views. The site, where the original waste-water processing plant used to be, has commanding views of the ocean and cliffs.

A family restaurant, Sails, which will accommodate up to 200 diners, will open on October 16. Another smaller eatery, Foam, will cater for fine dining, breakfast and room service for hotel clients. It will open on October 30.
According to Foam executive chef Craig Bloemsma, the restaurant will offer some of the best food available in the area.

“We plan to have a menu where recommendations are given on which wine best matches each dish. Our wine list has been chosen by wine author and consultant Jorg Pfutzner.”

The majority of the rooms have sea views, each with a balcony, while the basement contains a spa, massage and health treatment rooms, and several novel waterfall features.

The shopping complex will include a supermarket, clothing boutiques, a delicatessen and tourist shops.
The complex will be managed by the Mantis Group.
