Ezdan Real Estate Company is to work on the construction of the Asia Towers project in Qatar.
Work will see four 55-storey towers built in close proximity in the West Bay area of Doha.
Each building will contain around 1,600 residential apartments, as well as commercial real estate, reports The Peninsula.
Ezdan will own 32.5 per cent of the towers with 33.75 per cent each owned by Al Sarri Trading Company and Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company.
The construction job, which has an estimated cost of $686 million, is scheduled to take three years.
Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, chairman of Ezdan, said that the three companies are currently involved in negotiations with local and regional banks in regards to funding for the project.
He added that he expected to be able to announce loan agreements in the near future.

Halawala May 24th, 2010, 09:33 PM Wooow! We have a thread for that, not no render! Didnt see that coming! thanks for posting. But the design I prefer if the whole building is the horizontal stripes.
Kind of reminds me of the buildings in Al Khan area of Sharjah
The executive May 28th, 2010, 06:34 PM Great design, I like it :)
Massilia April 18th, 2012, 01:06 AM Please someone forbid Ezdan to exist. Urgently.
Ezdan Real Estate’s revenues are expected to surge this year with many of its new residential projects coming on line. The robust growth in revenues are supported by plans to open new residential villages in Al Wukair and the opening of Ezdan Villages 21, 22, 23 and 24, which were the Games Village for the Arab Games in December 2011.
“We pursue a strategy through residential villages that we are building in different areas of the country, supporting the efforts to achieve comprehensive development, as well as to diversify the company’s investments to include the shopping mall sector, as we are preparing to open Ezdan Mall in September in Al Gharafa area, while construction works of Ezdan Mall 2 and 3 in Al Wukair is in progress,” its chairman Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah al-Thani told the shareholders.
Addressing at the annual general assembly, which approved the 1.5% cash dividend, he said Ezdan has outlined several future plans that would pave the way for creating more options, thereby meeting the growing demand in the Qatari market, along with launching more projects that keep pace with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Ezdan would also open its Mall 1 in Al Gharafa later this year. The project, located in the prime area, will contribute to increasing shareholders’ profit, Ezdan managing director Ali al-Obaidli said.
About the future projects, Ezdan said works on the Al Wahab Tower project in West Bay, comprising two basements, ground floor and 38 floors, is expected to start soon.
The company also said the works would also commence for its Asia Towers, to be built on an area of up to 29,375 sq m and will consist of four towers, one of which will consist of three basements, ground floor, two mezzanine and 23 floors; while the remaining three will have three basements, ground, two mezzanine and 23 floors.
The White Square Tower project, one of the series of towers it is building in the area overlooking the West Bay ‘Daffna”, has started to materialise on the ground and is expected to be completed within two years, the company said.
The company is also constructing two more malls (2 and 3) in Al Wakra, following its successful opening of Ezdan Villages in Al Wakra and Al Wukair. Mall 2, which is coming up opposite Hamad Medical Corporation hospital, will span an area of more than 75,600 sq m.
Mall 3 will consist of 11 commercial buildings of two floors including shops, offices and clinics with the availability of 510 parking lots. The built-up area is 31,899 sq m, while the land area is 53,369sqm.
The launching of new projects will provide a qualitative addition to the real estate market in Qatar, according to him.
Ezdan deputy chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani bin Abdulla al-Thani highlighted that the growth in investment in the shopping centers segment — which is a dynamic sector and constitutes an essential part of the domestic economy – made sense in view of the increasing demand in the retail sector.
