I downloaded the game (or what I thought was the game :S) from kazaa a while ago and I can't install it now because when I try to run the program I get a "program too big to fit in memory" error. I only have 256MB of RAM, not very good for the game I know, but I thought I'd at least be able to install the file. Is there any way I can unzip it perhaps?

edit: the file I have is called Sim City 4 (CD2).bin.exe, so it may not be all I need for the game even. :eek:

Download another one or buy it .

eh..... if life were easy, I wish I could just download SC4 from someone who already has it via MSN. :)

If you come across with a program that has two file extensions, 99% of the time you've downloaded a virus. Returning an error and exiting is a common characteristic of a trojan. It will install itself and then display a fake error message to make unsuspecting users think that something else has gone wrong.

Install a firewall, scan your computer for viruses.

But what you got were all the hallmarks of a trojan infection. Not everything will be detected. I'd get the tools that are used to scan for trojans rather than virii.

Update your virus definitions and if you're going to pirate SimCity 4, you might as well pirate a copy of a better-known virus scanner.

What's a scanner that can detect it then? Because AntiVir does say that it can detect trojans itself.
