Paok doesnt need to move out of the city, there fine where they are. If they can use more then 2/4 of there current stadium when building them self a new one. There isnt really any point spending way more money, for building a stadium from scratch.

I do not agree with moving stadiums out of the city and believe existing ones should be either redeveloped, surround them with squares and green and make sure that public access is provided through pedestranised streets, catching the bus (or in the future, the metro!) I really dont like how lately in Greece everyone is suggesting everything to be taken out of the city'paleodomiko sikrotima. This not only decreases the liveliness Greek cities have, but creates american sprawl like contitions were you have infrastruture surrounded by massive carparks in the middle of nowhere.
This has reminded me when I read somewhere else, how people even want the trainstation to be relocated out of the city...:ohno:

That last one surely is of another city?

I decided rather then do a new Toumba, I'd go with my idea for the SuperLeague of having shared stadiums for smaller teams on the lower half of the table.
Same concept as before, two tiers, corporate and vip suites and facilities around the top and a restaurant, and a roof.
It's already becoming a pain to work on with thousands of seats(components) slowing things down..arghh.

Here's an update..it's turned into a bit of an Apollon stadium with the superscreens displaying the logo hehe. On top running all the way around the stadium will be the vip & corporate suites and restaurant. Still have to finish the seats in the corners..what a pain in the ass.

Εξαρτάται από τον καθηγητή φίλε αρχιτέκτονα, εξαρτάται από τον καθηγητή. Όντως πολύ καλό σχέδιο, και θα έπρεπε να τύχει μιας ιδιαίτερης προσοχής... Ποιος ξέρει, εγώ το έχω πει ότι η Θεσσαλονίκη μπορεί να πρωτοπορήσει πιο γρήγορα από την Αθήνα. :)

Η Θεσσαλονίκη είναι ήδη πιο Ευρωπαϊκή από την Αθηνα. Μερικές φορες όταν περπατάς στο Μοναστηράκι, στη Σοφοκλέους η στου Ψειρή θυμίζει περισσότερο Cairo η Damascus παρα Ευρώπη.
Ευτυχώς που υπάρχουν περιοχές σαν τα βόρεια και τα νότια προάστια...
Πάντως αυτό με την Θεσσαλονίκη το λένε και οι ξένοι.

Leoforos Megas Alexandrou sucks big time. Its like an intercity highway which cuts of the Nea Paralia from the city that lies behind it (Vasilisas Olgas region). I hope in the future this road goes underground, or at least partly, so that these parts of the urban fabric are united with parks. Same with Leoforos Nikis. One continuous green pedestrian zone from Nikis to the Megaro Mousikis over 300 meter wide alongside the water. Unique in Europe and maybe even the world and very Thessaloniki.

The focus on highrises gorgos is just one part of a larger vision for Thessaloniki, but of course other developments that could benefit the city much more include making leoforos 'megalou alexandrou' go underground which definatly should happen some time, I would also propose the green areas to reach through the streets to 'vasilis olgas' and the non itherestingbuildings facing the nea paralia to be retrofited with new modern facades :D
Other visions include continuing the waterfront parks all the way past the music hall, through karabouranki, past the parks at the marina in Kalamaria (which can be intergared) and even past the IKEA shopping centre and lead towards Peraia with bicycle paths going under the runways since the airport is in the way.
Also every single army ground has to be given so that parks can be created, I dont think there is any other city with such big open spaces in its urban core that are still not developed and just lie there unused.

not to mention the thousands of empty spaces in the urban core that can be used
to create small green spaces that today are either left unused with mud or filled with cars

eg. here in my old neighbourhood, this used to be nothing more than piles of debry and mud ...and today it has turned into a nice little park! We need to see more of this happen throughout the city, by all municiplalies.
