I'm a long time fan/player of the Sim city series of games.
Just recently, I moved up to SC4 and had a real hard time getting my budget in line. To solve this, I asked somebody that had been playing the game for a long time (since it had come out in stores) for some help. He tipped me off to a plugin lot that you can download off of the website that boosts you income to $4 Billion!
You can get it on the SC4 official website in the downloads of lots section under the listing of most often downloaded lots.
It will have a caption saying that it is the 4 bill lot.
This certaily helped me, I hope it helps you!

Unfortunately I lost my serial number for SimCity 4 and I can't register to download it. Are you able to send me that plugin?

you'd be suprised...all that money means you can run your city like a totalitarian ruler.

Having alot of money means that you can actuall concentrate on learning how to grow a city for that first region you build up. I consider it sort of a "sandbox" mode, where you can try things out, see fi it is successful, and still always have money left to try other things. I did that with the first regiona I played, and now that I'm playing my second region, I know how to get things to work the way I want them to. It's much more enjoyable IMO.

I totally agree. When I use "cheats" I really don't consider that cheating, just kind of an express way of playing the game. It gives me a chance to experiement with different things without worrying about sending my city in debt. But as long as your having fun that's what counts.

For me, my approch with every version of Sim City is to get a feel for the game with "cheats".
After I've got a good read on the game, then its time for business. Strickly legit gameplay.

I use the money cheats so I can plan and build my CBD. I like cities that are like Los Angeles or Calgary (a very centralized CBD surrounded by a low buildings and houses) as oppose to Sao Paulo like cities (sea of high rises). Hence it is essential that I have all the roads laid, the transit system up, and the ploppable office towers with lots of jobs located where they are suppose to be. For the suburbs, then I play it properly(although I lay out the rapid transit tracks in advanced and may get some limited money cheats for that). I do practice a lot of self control by pretending the money isn't there and ensuring a balance budget. I suppose I am trying to mimic a private developer to plan the CBD than letting the Sims build whatever they want depending on "market conditions".
