**Chuckle** - I well remember that skyline, otherwise known as "The city of miles-high skyscrapers that might actually have a planet with actual ground down there somewhere, though I wouldn't swear to it, " especially in connection with Obi-Wan chasing that bounty hunter, sometimes in an aircar, sometimes not, under, over, around and through buildings, which was one of my favorite parts of the whole film...

Hmmm, Coruscant, capital of the Old and New Republic and Imperial Capital of the Empire. Amazingly tall buildings, wonder how tall they are. So who wants to give good ole Palpatine a visit? :D

So future skyscrapers are actually not glassy.

For some reason future skyscrapers always look like future skyscrapers, but they hardly ever get built.

Well, the closest is that Burj Dubai under construction. Check it out, it looks pretty futuristic.

edit: I use Bryce too, to create metropolises, well.. actually my metropolis is only 40 buildings for now and is PRESENT style.. when my hdd works again ill open a sneakpeak topic. Actually I would love to launch the project as a Bryce5 / 3dsMAX project for all SSC forum members.

one planet, one city .... just like montreal... one island, one city. Maybe our planet would look like that in 300 years or so.

Luckily such (like above) dense fantasie cities wont get real cuz most people find it rather dreadful and inhuman. Although for example Hong Kong and some other cities look a bit like these..

I have no idea who created this - but I've had it saved on my hard disk for months......the three blocks in the centre used to be government buildings but were pulled down last year - in my opinion the bridge is the classest part

It looks a bit like that Iron Maiden album cover that someone here has as an avatar.

the cover of Brave New World, Iron Maidens album?

Here

and here another futuristic, sci-fi Iron Maiden cover, this one from the album Somewhere In Time (1986). There are several references to Blade Runner (Tyrel Corp), to other Iron Maiden albums and songs (Aces High, Ancient Mariner, etc) and even to Isaac Asimov!

I dream of Coruscant. Steel and other developed technologies reaching towards space. Miles high. When's the next departure?
