Nah. Its enough for me that the party leaders are saying any MP who refuses to comply will be deselected.

If parliament passed a law that banned something really important like sex or onions then I might support a coup.

i'd be in favour of your perfectly reasonable proposition if following this coup certain MPs were executed, irrespective of whether they paid back their expenses or not. or even if they had nothing to pay back anyway. i guess i'm quite a violent-tempered sort of chap.

I would support an election to force MPs to pay for their takeaways by Paypal.

Any party proposing the banning of onions gets my vote.

No, how absurd.

Anyway...the military are under the leadership of HM, not going to happen.

Coups are just really not British are they?

I'd support Lizzie and the Armed Forces kicking out the current government & system so long as she set up a new democracy with a new parliamentary system.

I'm thinking junior officers here. Firstly they would cut all communication with the Royal family. They would also need some help from a group within the RAF, possibly bombing household regiments whilst Westminster was surrounded possibly at Prime Minister's questions.

^^

Not going to happen, our men and women serve her glorious Majesty with honour. They would do no such thing....you need to think this through.

Maybe you could go ask the Argies for help?

I'm being hypothetical, and the question is would you support it, not would it happen.

Technically it would not be a coup of her majesty dissolved parliament without the PM's approval. It would be 100 % constitutionally sound, although the communist element anf the guardianistas would be in uproar I am sure.

No. Such a coup would be justifiable under certain circumstances, but not this minor corruption scandal.

If the PM refused to call a general election - coup please

if Labour lost the election but refused to stand aside - coup

If labour got caught rigging the general election - coup please

etc. But right now our democracy is relatively stable and honourable, and so it is unlikely that a coup would be needed. Unfortunately, the ex communists in charge of lawmaking have laid the foundations for an oppressive totalitarian state which may emerge in the future, and which may necesitate some kind of coup.

David Cameron wants a 10% reduction in the number of MP's and i agree on this, so I'd have 60 MP's randomly killed and let everybody else live.

killing everybody is a bit extreme to say the least!

this thread is full of thought crime :ohno:

I hope you all realise that even jovial suggestions of coups and killing MPs can get you put on trial as a terrorist. Expect New Labour's kgb inspired security aparatus to come calling any second.

That's what the NLS (NuLaborStazi) want you to believe.
