Nothing Much happened on this development, and don't expect anything to for quite a while. But thought it should have a thread just in case there is any development news.
"Don’t expect to see much happen for a few years, but we’re talking 800 acres of prime dockland, £1bn of investment and, did someone mention the longest opening footbridge on the planet? All we’ll say is, watch this space."

Would be fantastic if it all worked out but, like you say, I think we could be in for a long wait.

Yes, its a shame, but i could see this probably never happening. It would of been great to have it all done for the Tall Ships race in 2010, which should of created loads of construction to spruce Hartlepool up such as Trincomalee Warf, but it hasn't. :(

These plans have now been scrapped as far as i am aware. But windfarms are now expected to be made here:

Although, Trincomalee Wharf may begin construction soon by Jomast developments on the Hartlepool Marina: http://www.trincomaleewharf.co.uk/ will get a thread with the details of the project up soon.

It's unreal how much Hartlepool has been fucked over by the Tees Valley Regeneration people. Promised a great development and then that's ditched for... a few wind turbines.

Yes, it is, it seems that Hartlepool has been forgotten about.

There should of been loads of development going on in Hartlepool with the Tall Ships race this year, but hardly any investment has been made. I stumbled along this the other day which seems promising:

The Tall Ships thing has been a Hartlepool Council error. There's something like 200 hotel rooms in the entire town meaning everyone's going to be staying over in the likes of Newcastle and Middlebrough and giving Hartlepool all of the costs and none of the benefits.

Little appears to have been done in the town and, like you say, this should have brought significant investment to the town.

Also, I read the other week that the biggest hotel in Hartlepool, the Travel Lodge, had every single one of it's 100 rooms booked by Hartlepool Council meaning over half the rooms are just being paid for by Hartlepool Council anyway. Total joke!

What the hell are they thinking of!?!? This is probably the one chance Hartlepool is going to get ina life time to stage such a big event and they haven't capitalized on it at all. The amount of investment that could of been brought in and as far as i am aware there has been no development what so ever towards the tall ships race.

Still will be going to see it and support it though!

It's been a total disgrace, sadly the local paper (the only people who could realistically speak up about this) are so in the council's pocket it's unreal.

Ah ok, i don't get up there too often, so don't actually know what the preparations have been like for the Tall Ships. As far as i'm aware theres been no development purposely for the event, but could be wrong.

As far as I can tell they're stuck some stickers on the bins at the marina and then put up a woeful 'countdown clock'.

AH yes, i've seen that. What a mist opportunity! On the whole though Hartlepool Marina is a nice area, so should be fine although it could of been so much more for this. Maybe they'll get it a again in the future and learn from there mistakes! Its stillg oing to give the area a boost like.
