Does it means something special for you? London™ April 13th, 2004, 09:31 PM it's just because people like to name residential skyscrapers either in French (i.e. BelleVille) or in English (i.e. Tower Palace). Sometimes they mix the two (Super+ville, River+ville, etc.), or they use Greek/Latin names (such as Hyperion and Acrovista.) Matthieu April 13th, 2004, 09:48 PM Thank you, but super also exist in French. (It comes from the Latin). Talking about French language, is some people learning it there? I know you'll get little benefit of learning French but well, many some peoples do. What's the place of the French between the English and the Japanese? London™ April 13th, 2004, 10:25 PM I know that the word "super" also exist in French, but this one is in English. (They call it "Su-per-ville," not "su-pe-r-ville.") About French, of course there are some people learning French in Korea. As a part of the high school curriculum, you can choose between German, French, Spanish, Japanese, or Chinese (the option may vary depends on what school are you going to) for your 3rd language. Also you can go to Alliance Francaise, not to mention that there are quite a number of Koreans who study in France. But after all, French is mandatory through almost all grades here unless you are a native North American - or so-called "Indians," - or taking the ESL course. (Yup.. we've got Quebec.) Matthieu April 13th, 2004, 10:34 PM Ok thanks. You mean the way tou pronounce it? "Seuper" as we say "Suhpér" (I'm trying to write the prononciation, but it's hard since there's no equivalent in English for the French u). drwho April 14th, 2004, 12:33 AM dumatod!..wow very nice pictures!!..the night picture looks futuristic! :) London™ April 14th, 2004, 12:46 AM Ok thanks. You mean the way tou pronounce it? "Seuper" as we say "Suhpér" (I'm trying to write the prononciation, but it's hard since there's no equivalent in English for the French u). Yeah. Ellatur April 14th, 2004, 01:42 AM Is that a residential building? It looks very neat! seaniscoming April 15th, 2004, 10:33 AM Deleted Ellatur April 17th, 2004, 02:33 AM Thank you seaniscoming for that nice essay. I love how the names sound something else while they mean something else. Especially Prugio and e-편한세상. Prugio sound similar as 'Bellagio' or something of that sort, and e-편한세상 gives you a futuristic and technologically advanced feeling but when you read the e as 이, it means quite different thing. infatar April 17th, 2004, 01:23 PM Deleted kyenan April 17th, 2004, 06:31 PM Oh!!!
