First, sorry for my so terrible English

Hello, I am new here. I adore the buildings and the famous structures. When I 16 years old i did a city that is late in completing it two years.
I did 70 famous and not very famous buildings and 140 buildings designed for my.
Unfortunately i have to go away of my country (now I live in Spain) and I could not take my buildings with me, the only one recollection that I still have are these photos that I did approximately 7 or 8 months before going away (they were noticing that there are sites without buildings).
But what hatred is that my uncle establishes himself in my house and everything went to the garbage.

While I am not opposed to the skin, I will say that some need to curb their enthusiasm about the whole matter. I am not offended by an image something that actually happened, or even reproducing the effects of the destruction of that day, but I will sternly remind everyone to watch their wording, to avoid insensivity.

Ausie, it would not be "good" to have a model of a plane to stick into the model of the building. It may be called for, or necessary for accuracy, but it is nothing close to good.

And skyscraperlover, there was nothing "cool" about the explosion on September 11th, and there is nothing "cool" about reproducing the image in scale. It can be done, for the sake of memorializing, or to learn about the event, but "very cool" is disgustingly inappropriate.

I am not trying to be a hard-ass, and I understand that the events of that day mean different things to all of us. Ausie, I don't think you are a citizen of the US (I may be wrong) so I understand it doesn't have the same impact on you as it does me, and same goes for you SSL9595, you were about five years old right? I was a high school student, 14 years old; many of my friends and peers joined the military post graduation, motivated by our nation's call to arms over the issue of terrorism. They ended up in Afghanistan and Iraq. Two of my friends came home in flag-draped pinewood boxes; another, who used to be a class clown put a pistol in his mouth after watching the Humvee in front of his in a convoy explode, only to rain down shards of steel, rubber, flesh, blood, and bone on his windshield. The flesh and blood of people he knew, people he loved. 9-11 changed this world and the lives of so many. So please, for the sake of the 3000 dead civilians from 30+ countries, and the lives of countless servicemen and women, that will never be the same, remember that there is nothing "cool" or "good" about that day.

I support the ideals upheld in the constitution of the United States of America, and will earnestly defend them, even at the cost of my life.

@ John87, I have no problem with the post, just an issue with people unironically using words like good and very cool in relation to the event. I will admit I've made plenty of jokes about the event itself over the past eight years, but the humor stems from the understanding that the teller of the joke understands the implications of the day. I am not so sure that the statements made earlier came from a full understanding of the attacks.

TL;DR, It's ok to talk about 9-11 but make sure you understand what the attacks mean to many people.

My grandfather had Pearl Harbor, my father had Kennedy's Assassination, and I have 9-11.

i am sorry that my comment came across that way. i appologise everyone. i was truely shocked by the events of 9-11 and it was so very sad to see those poor inocent people leaping from the burning towers. i truely apologise. i didn't mean to say that it was a good event because it was not i simply meant a model of it to represent what happened that day.

i don't fully understand the full extent of that day but i do know that without those events modern architecture as it is today would not exist. the inapropriate comment has since been removed.

sorry

Use an old pen without ink and a rule to mark with pressure the lines of the props in order that it is easy to twist the paper.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/6448/dsc00084ya.jpg
http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/5042/dsc00086p.jpg

Screw the paper in a thin bar or in a thin piece of pen. Later, to double the paper and stick it, this part don't have glue tabs for the curvature. Take it easy, it is difficult to do it well. I recommend to use glue instantaneous or some other one that dries off rapidly.

Not, i study only a year of Bellas Artes and anymore.
My steps to do a paper model:
1. choose a building
2. search for information of the height, floors and location.
3. search if there is some model drawn in Sketchup.
4. To change the scale if it is necessary 5. To export images of the faces and parts of the building.
6. To draw the pieces in Paint.NET and to stick the images copied from the Sketchup.
7. To check if every piece is ok and to print

about Andorra
I go shopping to Andorra, everything is cheaper there. The Andorrans have bad reputation of terrible drivers. I think that Spain and France influence very much culturally, but politically it is very independent. On the other hand, the Andorran landscape is beautiful, i would like to live there. My city is to 160 km from Andorra

Ok, i think i have the photos in my pc.
I like the Burj Dubai, but is so tall for my collection, i like the harmony with tall buildings and short buildings. If you see my diagrams, you'll see the buildings are not so tall because I have five tall buildings.

i know exactly what you mean. in my collection, i have the massive mile high tower which is twice as tall as the burj, and it really sticks out. could you maybe make the mall of arabia and/or the small buildings at the bottom of the burj?

lemme see if i can dig any photos of the street level facade up from my most recent trip; failing that, I could go on a research run and drive into town to snap some photos for you. I'll need a good excuse to spend $55 on parking downtown, so I'll probably con some girl I know into joining me for coffee/shopping/food in the Loop.

Also yes I did get to your marina city model. One tower came out poorly in my attempt, the other one, dismally. Lol. Will post photos at a later date

These buildings are great, but i don't like the small buildings, detract from the beauty of other. i will do the towers with the complex without the small buildings, only spaces. So, thanks for your collaboration, try to speak English so that others understand us and so we do not let the side.

With chinese though the whole world would be open to me, english is very common and chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world. French would be cool too, my mom took french in high school and she knows a little still. What I really really want to know is arabic, but it isn't offered in the puyallup school district anywhere. I may end up buying rosetta stone for 500$:/. My mom also knows arabic because she went out with a guy from kuwait. My mom ALSO went inside a saudi prince's private jet, a boeing 747 (it was the largest at the time)
