I think the teck Park at Koratty should be named as Trichur Techno Park to give more mileage. It is true that Koratty is about 30 Kms from Trichur city, but the park should be named Trichur Techno Park to give more importance for the park.

The big tech parks in Bangalore such as ITPL and Companies in Electronics city region in Bangalore are almost 30 Kms away from the city center Majestic - MG Road region, but still they are called ITPL, Bangalore and EC, Bangalore.

The Techno Park at Kazhakootum in Trivandrum (18 Kms away from city center), upcoming Techno Park at Kundara in Kollam (19 KMs away from city center) are called Trivandrum Techno Park and Kollam Techno Park respectively.

Similary at least one of the Info parks in Alleppy (there are two - Cherthala and Ambalapuzha) should be renamed as Info Park Alleppy. Ambalapuzha is hardly 20 Kms away from Alleppy town center.

This will give more milege to the cities and the parks.

I think since there is a thread for Trichur Techno Park which deals with the Koratty park news, this thread will be confusing for the forummers as a different park thread. It is good to merge both the threads under the banner Trichur Techno Parks.

Yes... but even in TV news its been said Koratty Info Park rather than Trichur Info Park.

Though the Info Park is at Kakkanad and Techno Park is at Kazhakootum, they are termed as Trivandrum Techno Park and Kochi Info park.

The news reporters and forummers should use the name Trichur Info park to popularize and attract investments to the park than using the name Koratty. The same should be followed in the case of parks coming up at Ambalapuzha and Kundara as well highlighting the city names.

thrissur infopark is mainly designed for tapping the talent pool and enterpreneruial skills in and around thrissur..so infact thrissur is developing in the shadow of cochin to some extent..bcoz its 45km from cochin and 14km from nedumbassrey airport....so ofcourse cochin has some effect on thrissur...

This will surely help places like Koratty !!!!!!!!!

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is mulling promotion of business process outsourcing (BPO) in rural areas in association with its member companies and through centres of excellence.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, CII southern region Chairman and CEO and Managing Director of Infosys Technologies Limited, Bangalore, S. Gopalakrishnan said that “There is a tremendous possibility to set up the BPOs in rural areas as most of the citizen services are being provided in local or regional languages.”

He said BPOs were one significant sector that offered new possibility to tap the potential in rural areas and a holistic approach was being made in this regard.

He said CII was also interested in promotion of entrepreneurship development and skill development schemes on lines with the experiments made elsewhere.

He said he along with the office bearers of the Puducherry unit of CII had discussed with Puducherry Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam various issues relating to the union territory including city decongestion, urban renewal, health care, uninterrupted power supply, mobility of labour and single window concept.
