Its now highly likely all the 8 provinces will be scrapped to be replaced with 14 regions, each having a devolved regional government and run by a governor. I like it as it may be the answer to better distribution of resources countrywide. I just hope the government doesn't sell this idea on the "majimbo" platform.

This I believe is a dangerous precedent, the fortes being formed will demand more and more autonomy as time goes bye; like soon wanting to have their own armies and they would most likely seek revenge against perceived or believed enemy state. Not good for intergration if the aim is to form one united country, whatever is happening now in the party political scene is what will happen with the so called states..

Some things will be controlled at the national level like the army. Though I am still uncomfortable about alot of stuff in the proposed new constitution as a whole.

Looks like our 8 provinces are here to stay (only this time they are going to be regions). Its better this way coz those 14 regions were begining to look like some future "majimbo" nightmare.

Finally some common senses. The 14 regions would have been a source of more divisions than what the constitutional writers had envisaged.

Personally I don't like the current provinces we have....

The provinces were allocated by the British dividing us tribally.... If only they could change this so that the provinces are not synonymous with a particular tribe.

something along these lines... 7 Provinces

Love the expanded central province and western. At least in your image the provinces are not synonymous with any major ethnic group save for North Eastern, Turkana and Northern free state regions.

Though I think there would be real major economic differences. The richest IMO would be the southern and coast province while the northern ones will have problems. I Wish there was a way to combine those two provinces in a way to make them economically viable.

Overall, your idea is brilliant. I like it.

They dragged the regions back into the equation. I dont know what to make of it but something deep in my bones doesn't like this decision.
