Quick heads up, Nonew' seems to have taken great offence to a link I posted on the arena from the Grauniad, and was relatively rude. No opin' has jumped in to my defence and I think we've all contained it but wanted to give a heads up

Looking at the update it's now possible to directly drag an image from the file manager on computer to site - as opposed to hosting on flickr etc. Because of that I wonder if we need a reinforced if using an image please credit message. Obviously the older site required the link location which tended to prompt crediting image.

Yes, that would seem a good idea, perhaps on all five Admin Threads? Also, not sure about you, but I am still coming to grips with this very different website !!!

    Hi Peter,
all the main headings for different threads in other cities are updated and more specific by indicating floor heights, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool etc. On the headings for Newcastle, they are outdated. The likes of Calders Yard lists 4fl to 9fl, it does not relate to current actual projects, the new project has a bulk of buildings from about 6fls to 12fls..
What are your thoughts about being specific and up-to-date about the headers, people will still easily locate headers by current actual projects, not past non happenings ?
    Regards
    Stuart

    Hi Peter,
noticed that you have an interest in old maps of Newcastle. Part of the P&T Image Archive is a number of maps that you might find interesting. These are not for publication in full, but small extract are allowed. If you would like to see some of them I could email them to you if that is ok.

    Cheers

    Peter,

thanks. My first attempt at this was pinning photos to display boards on the 10th floor of the Civic! I have a Facebook page - Unknown photos of Tyne and Wear - which I used to use to help identify photos which worked really well. Thought I'd give others on SkyscraperCity a go. :)

    Cheers

    Peter,

In the P&T archive I have a few photos taken in Gateshead in 2003 that I have no idea where abouts they are. Would it be ok to ask the forum members via the 'Question' thread?

    Cheers
    George

    Hi Dan,

    I have an urgent request:

I am getting in touch regarding a post you made in 2012 of the Woolworths in Byker - you posted a lovely archive picture of the building, details below:

Byker Wetherspoon pub plan gets the go-ahead
by Dan Warburton, Evening Chronicle, June 28th 2012

I am wondering where you managed to source this picture as i am trying to use it for a show we are doing.

I hope you get in touch soon,

    Kindest,

    Ash

Hello, my name is Parker and I work for a TV production company called Ricochet. If it's okay I would like to ask you a few questions regarding Shields Road in Byker for a piece we're doing on The One Show. Would you be able to get in contact at parker.staff@ricochet.co.uk ?

I would like to obtain permission to use the image link below - 'Bird's Eye View of Newcastle, 1590', posted on Skyscrapercity.com on December 14th, 2010. I have approached The British Museum, who are unable to provide any further information without a reference. Are you able to supply a reference, or any other information that might help me identify anyone holding any rights on the image.
    Many thanks, Regards

    Francis Glynn

Hi N H. Thanks for posting the correct ref and link on post 610 (South African war memorial). I don't know what I am doing wrong with these attempts to post on the forum so maybe best all round if I leave it to those who know how post correctly. I hope I haven't caused you to much extra work with my bungling attempts. Cheers.

It would be easier if I could drop them off. I live in Heaton - where/when would be convenient for you.

Hi, NH. I've been having a clear out and have got a box of Newcastle documents that I don't know what to do with apart from taking them to the tip. There are some interesting ones in there e.g. the 1963 Development Plan, a 1950's development plan, and promotional documents for the redevelopment of the Old Town Hall site. Would you be interested in having the box? It seems preferable to throwing them away.

COULD YOU PLEASE REMOVE MY POSTING ON THE COMPLETED THREADS POST AND REPOST ON THE NEW THREAD. I HOPE THIS OK. THANKS AGAIN.
