21st Century Tower
Dubai, UAE HEIGHT: 269m/883 feet FLOORS: 54 floors COMPLETION: 2003 ARCHITECT: WS Atkins and Partners for a short Time it was the Tallest residental tower in the world http://tinypic.com/acccj http://www.greatestcities.com/1908pi...ont_cheat_.JPG Pictures by Trances http://photo.starblvd.net/RateOurTal...pg=2&ro=4&co=1 http://photo.starblvd.net/RateOurTal...pg=2&ro=4&co=2 Pictures by ulex: http://foto.rambler.ru/photos/u/l/ul...ai/1/13/13.jpg http://foto.rambler.ru/photos/u/l/ul...ai/1/16/16.jpg http://www.greatestcities.com/2779pi...f_Whoknows.JPG |
Respectable building, 8/10.

Nice tower, though it looks commerical more than residential to me.
10/10 for being the WTRB. Congratulation, Dubai! :) BTW, the side view in the first pic reminds me of the Shun Hing Square in Shenzhen. http://skyscraperpage.com/gallery/da...6392637428.jpg |
6/10
The only decent thing about it is the circular part, everything else is pretty bland. |
Looks boring from three sides and tacky from one side. All shapes seem to have been chosen pretty much at random and the "3+1" effect makes it a messy tower alltogether.
3/10 |
7/10
It only looks good from one angle. Otherwise the parts seem poorly coordinated and the spire seems awkwardly placed. Still, I like the slimness and height. |
8/10
It looks really good from one angle (the one where it is like a sail), but the spire is crappy from the other angle. Overall, I like it :) |
Never seen this one before, but I like it. 8.5/10
|
nice! 10/10
|
9.5/10
I like it but I dont like the flat side |
It's a little ackward, but is still interesting and tall as hell.
7.0/10 |
1 000 000 !!!!!!
|
5.5 façade looks cheap :/
|
Very nice, modern :okay: Dubai rocks!!! 9/10
|
Amazing... :) 10/10
|
5.5/10 could have been much better with its height. Plus I don't like its spire, which was placed for cheating (in order to become the world's tallest res. building). Tower Palace 3's roof height (264m) is much higher than this building and Triumph Palace's.

This one is hard to "wrap my eyes around"...
The blue glass curtainwall and the silver "sail" go well together, and look like they can really dance with the light; it's also slim enough to have good height, especially from certain angles. But somehow it doesn't seem to hold together; it has so many sections going every which way that it's downright confusing. And that squarish, cement "spire" not only doesn't go with the rest of the tower at all; it looks like somebody didn't take the time to finish it! |
beautiful 9/10
|
yeah she's a beauty! 9/10.
It does look like a commercial building though....where's the railings to hang your undies from? |
Well.the deisgn is just great...for a commercial building.But it's a residential tower,so where are the freaking balconies?!
Anyway.... 8.0/10 |
