Goyang-city includes the region between Hwajeong and Daewha, with Ilsan in the middle. Ilsan is more or less the center. I explored this city much and it's quite uniform, really good urbanism, and an impressive amount of entertainment/restos/bar establishments. One of my favourite places to live worldwide.

No, you got it wrong. Goyang City consists of three "gu"s, Ilsan West-gu, Ilsan East-gu and Dukyang-gu. Hwajeong is a part of Dukgyang-gu, and Daehwa is a part of Ilsan West-gu.

Fukuoka itself, while nice, isn't a must-see impressive city. I think touring around Kyushu would be more worthwhile (such as Mt. Aso, Yufuin etc.)
