When people thought 'La cite du Fleuve' was the end, More investors keep coming up with more surprises. Private investment is our path to development.
I am guessing this will be built where ugly 'Port Puluku' is which will make my heart rejoice, seeing the ugly port removed from Kinshasa replaced by exactly what I wished could be there on the waterfront
I have been envisioning for the last 3 years might finally come true. I can't spend 1 single night without thinking when they will get rid of the Rotten Kinshasa Port, replacing it with exactly that kind of water front development.
This is the exact thing i been thing they should do on that site. Hotels, Condos, a Convention Center and a retail.

You remember what we talked about that Boat dumping of Kinshasa Port being replaced with a first class water front. Someone was already thing about
Slowly it will change...
I wish JOKA was strick as his father...
I think as more businesses move in they will force the goverment to clean the city.
last time i checked presentation affects shoppers more than anything.
Looking at this project also I have to say something like this in Goma would be mint.
Man am sickned when I think of how much we have in our country.
Anyone that I may offend am sorry. But I have to say we can be the greatest country in Africa in all aspect.
In my city here, they use the prisoners to go around picking up garbage and cleaning the city. I don't see why we don't do that in Kin.... I mean if we are to able to use state income to clean our cities why not use the man power we have. for example the prisoners.
Here people with minor offences or really short sentences can be be sentenced to Community service. If this was introduced you could have all the shegues picking up rubbish and cleaning up the place rather than wasting government money for nothing in jail.
Mates am sure this is just the beginning
Our country will have 70 million citizens in the next 8 years, (( an estimate))
with our growing middle class and we all know how much we Congolese like the good life
am sure there is plenty more to come for our retail markets....
Until we see it getting built. then can put a smile on face. In this country full of crocodile national politicians, it will take them 5 years to approve the papers like they did with Luano City.
Certainly not. It is outside the perimeter of Cité du fleuve. Waterfront is by definition located onshore while Cité du Fleuve is an offshore project. Robert Choudry was referring to two supermarkets to be built on already reclaimed land.
Ya garbage what a topic that is...
You know I thought people just exhilarated
when they say Kin has so much garbage
but man looking through every pict and video that's all the city seem to have.....
Much more projects will come soon, this is just the start. Why being skeptic mates? Skepticism is played out! We got to reset our mindset and think those projects as normal until we plan to build a new burj al arab building-like.
We are worth it!
You know I dont mind them at all.
they look like they can be built quickly .
But with them looking like deck levels I wonder if they are going to be open spaces????
You don't need super materials to have a stunningly eye candy Architecture . Its just Concrete , Glass and Steel. thats all.
The same as these box structures. all i'm saying their Architecture is so ungly.
The Car BODY for A VW , a Ford , a Honda and a Ferrari or Bentley are all cars built with same Materials . Just different shapes.
But with them looking like deck levels I wonder if they are going to be open spaces????
It depends on what's the need for the space. Indoor shopping need indoor space and a small water or small park space on the outside. They have parks behind them and the River. thats all the space needed.
I don't know what kind of parks they are. I'm just assuming from the way the renders look like. I see a some trees behind the buildings . I assume they are some small parks for add to the beauty.
Nice, but I think if your going to build like this,
they better develop them as an area were people can go for water front entertainment and spend some good cash. So the economy can continue.
Lets see how this project goes..
When it comes to retail and entertaiment
Congo has a lot to offer. We all know how much Congolese love to dress and the fab life.

Exactly on point. Clothing in Goma is big business. For this reason. One of plans is to to Cotton Agriculture , find investors to build me textile factories to transform Cotton into cotton fabrics , then hire Best of Congolese Couturiers to creat my own Clothing empire. God never forget his kids.
