Very interesting project! Without trying to hard to be '' look at me, i want to be the center of the attention'', it is a discreet design, but a great one nevertheless! More projects should be like this; not every skyscraper needs to be a landmark, but more of a background tower for the landmark tower. I hate these skylines that have tons of towers trying to be the icon.
Paris La Defence needs a skyscraper that is covered in Golden color glass to put more punch into the whole picture. I hope all that blue won't become boring and bland tasted once finished. But on this one sure looks lovely.
I don't think any skyline should have gold in it unless its an origional 80s building, where it can be excusable. There are better ways to have an eye catching cladding (adding a texture for example) then simply changing it to a loud (and ugly) colour.
Gold is the worst color that a building can have (well, maybe brown glass is even worse). Unless the building is so over the top that it becomes cool again. Like the Grand Lisboa casino in Macau:
But that only fits because it's a casino. And that's the whole problem. If I see a golden building I can't help thinking about casino's, Las Vegas, Tacky, Kitch, etc.
Just one skyscrapers that is cladded with Golden glass windows. It will SO look great on La D.
You know why? because if it is FRENCH, it will be a TRENDSETTER and sure not such ugly ugly thing. If French make it, I dare to bet it will be an aw-inspiring phenomental building blowing everybody's mind at the very first encounter. :eek2::bow::bow:
The only reason this looks ok is because it belongs to a time when gold cladding was the norm. If an architect was using gold glass now they would most likely have stunted taste and create a 1980s pastiche thinking it was what people wanted....
sure ... but let's not forget that Gold is now sooooooo astronomically expensive that they can't even afford it.
Who knows, if Gold price makes a freefall, that era revive again.
