The Italian economy is not exactly growing, people don't have loads of money to spend, especially on football matches. 70000 is a bit too much. You wouldn't wanna see halo empty stadium at games against weaker teams. 55000 is probably the right amount.

Those gaps :(

Kop stand :)

That wouldn't surprise me. The exterior is consistent with the previous images we've seen, and also what Meis has hinted with his love for the Colosseum.

Those images indicate a mix of European and American styles of stadium. So the European being the Kop, whist the American part being the multi-tiered side.

Hopefully it has indeed been improved since, 'cause it seems too open for my liking. However, it's certainly an interesting proposal.

Certainly sounds like they were intentionally leaked:

il Tempo the newspaper that published the pictures claims they are real and obtained from a source close to Dan Meis himself. But they added that they might be rough/initial drafts. They also confirmed the same pictures from a document that was circulated to get sponsors.

It appears the images are the ones that Parnasi, Pallotta, Zanzi and Meis were pictured together viewing back in June.

Q: What is your favourite example of Sport design around the world?

Meis: I love the Beijing National Stadium – the ‘Birds Nest’ – as an object, but the Roman Colosseum would be my romantic favourite.

Visually, from the outside, I love the design.

However, on the inside, I am not a fan of multipurpose stadiums ...especially those that include tracks for athletics. It puts the seating further back from the field.

I prefer that in some way, they make the seats extend to much closer to the field. Whether it is a purpose built stadium for one sport, or it is planned in advance to have removable seating to cover the track.

The City of Rome was represented by:

· Ignazio Marino, Mayor of Rome
· Giovanni Caudo, Assessor of Urban Planning for Rome City Council
· Luca Pancalli, Assessor of Sport for Rome City Council

All principals in attendance at the meeting and representatives from their respective organizations have agreed to maintain confidentiality with regards to details of the review and feedback sessions today, as plans for the stadium, while nearly complete, continue to evolve.

Parties provided a statement reflecting on the consultation:

James Pallotta, President of A.S. Roma – Chairman Raptor Group Holdings

Pallotta confirms Roma’s stadium presentation at the end of March

“We’ll present the stadium project at the end of March. Very modern, high-technology. In Europe there is no such thing. There is something in the U.S., San Francisco and Kansas City. It will be a modular structure that can be adapted to events of 15, 25 or 45 thousand spectators. We will have at least 200 of those a year, including games, concerts, rugby matches, also a jazz festival.

“The mayor has lived and worked for many years in the United States and understands very well the value of a work that enriches the city, offers new opportunities and new jobs and will not cost anything to the taxpayer, all private money from U.S. financial institutions. We’ll talk about it at the official presentation of the stadium at the end of March. Beginning in August, we could do it in two years,” he revealed.
