Hi everyone I am doing some research, I was hoping if you people can help? We want to do a list of the best 100 websites from Bangladesh in terms of design, the subject mater is not important, what we are looking for is the level of UI design.

Yea it is a bit of work, but I think the web design business is a labour intensive sector that Bangladesh can do well in. We have to start somewhere, so we are looking into how we can do this.

A common feature of most Bangladesh based websites is that they are static. They are prominently advertised at the time of creation but years will go by without any content update. I guess due to low Internet penetration, e-commerce type sites are still in their infancy.

I found the following sites informative as well as nicely designed.

Well firstly thanks for actually being the first to respond dopekhor and samaruf, I am not really looking for people to do my work for me, although I was born and raised in the UK, I love Bangladesh and consider myself a Bangladeshi first and formost. I have made my money in the internet industry here in the UK (just in case its considered selfpromoting and against the rules of this forum i won't mention anymore)and now i think its time to do something for MY country.

So I have been searching for a place where can interact with people who seem to me to have similar views about and respect for Bangladesh (they always love to print the negative aspects of Bangladesh here in the UK and the US I suspect) so truthfully i have been just reading the posts and not contributing to much.

Now I have registered a company in BD, and hired a few developers. Next I need to do a report highlighting the talent there, and here is where i am starting to hit a brick wall, can't seem to find sites that really compare with best the rest of the world are doing, even the larger companies/groups in BD don't seem to take the internet too seriously or don't understand it.

You are so right samaruf, having a great site is just the start, and a small part, content is king. Sites in BD tend to be simple and static lack any usable CMS backend and hence neglected.

PS an example of a company using the internet is http://www.sk.com from Korea.

If I understood properly what you meant by UI Design, I have not come across any Bangladesh based wesbite so far that had the quality to make me speechless, to tell you the truth. But, there are quite a number of sites that seem to be good in UI and Content combination point of view:
