BRESCIA | Metro

Brescia's metropolitan area has about 450,000 inhabitants and lies approximately 85 km east of Milan, in Lombardy, northern Italy.

In July 2000, tenders were invited for an automated 13 km long automated light metro, similar to the Copenhagen metro, with a deep-level tube tunnel under the city centre. The system, initially referred to as Metrobus, was to be developed within 7 years with construction start in 2003, but after some delays it will open in 2012. 39 m long and 2.65 m wide trains will serve 17 stations, all equipped with platform screen doors.

Yeah, actually, i think its really similar to Copenhagen, the trains is the same too, is it Ansaldo who has the head contract of this metro?

It's not 100% underground: as you can see in the video there are stretches on viaduct; anyway it is mostly underground

It will be similar to Copenhagen's one even for the trainset, that is the same; the only difference is that in Brescia trains have air conditining (you can see the aircon machines on the roof top in the pics), while in Copenhagen't they don't as it is useless because of its climate.
Milan M5 will have these trains too (the first one is already in the tunnel to start the tests) but a bit longer than Brescia and Copenhagen's ones

Another difference between Brescia and Copenhagen's system is on the elevated station in the tracks above the ground. In Brescia they have platform doors while in CPH they don't

Quite nice. One of the most beautiful train-sets and also not so ordinary station design. This is a promising system at least concerning it's appearance. Keep up with those updates!
