http://www.graveaddiction.com and http://www.deadmalls.com also have a lot of pictures of abandonded buildings.

Does anyone know who paid for the gate? Railroad or developer? This setting intrigues me because it seems the main purpose for the gate is to shut down the road so that the University Village could use the road's space on the north side of the viaduct for parking or grass, or what have you.

My guess is developer. The north and south sides of this railroad are like different worlds.

Thanks. Once it gets warmer out me and a buddy are going to go picture crazy around chicago. many opportunities around chicago for these types of pictures

Given the doldrums in the economy and the screeching halt to exciting new construction projects, I kind of figured the last thing I want to see is more decay and abandonment.

Agree. !!!! only if this cold weather will pass.. then i'll be out shooting more run down, abandoned pictures.. and yes more people contribute
