Leagues/Football clubhouses & grounds

Would love to see images of the various footy clubhouses and grounds from around Australia old and new.

I have a few to post, but I'm new here and not sure how to attach my photos.

The Gap Soccer club Brisbane, also home of the Brisbane CSC team.

Picture is of the real Celtic squad training at the gap during their visit to Brisbane last year.

I think this is the back of the Richmond clubhouse in Melbourne (Punt Rd??). It's a shame the older suburban grounds aren't used so much. Princess Park at least should still be in use for AFL games.

MCG

St Kilda Melbourne (Junction Oval??, not sure if St Kilda AFL team still use it)

Firstly, get the IMG code by right clicking on the image and find the properties. Copy on the URL after location.

Then paste the code into the text box (where you type your post) with [img] at the beginning of the URL and [/img.] and the end (except remove the full stop I've placed in there)

I hope that helps. There's a thread in the Skybar with more tips, they'll probably explain it a bit better than me. Or find someone's post that has a picture in it, click quote and have a look at how they've done it.

Thanks for that.

Just found out that you can't attach/upload your own photos unless they have a URL.

Go to photobucket and create an account. Upload you photos to there, and then you can post them.

Wish they'd update these renders, as it will look nothing like this.

This is closer:

If you don't want to create an account, try imageshack. You can upload photos straight away, then copypasta the URL in the insert image prompt box.

Great pic of Langlands Park there. I still get down there when I can to watch the mighty Tigers in the Qld Cup - $4 gate fee, meat pies and sunshine on a Saturday afternoon. Marvelous.

I suppose that old grandstand was knocked down to make way for the new Leagues Club? Shame...

Edit: Take that back, think I can see it at the far end of the ground in your 2nd pic.

The old girl is still there. It's just further away from the actual playing ground now and isn't used anymore.

2006 with Brisbane footy legends Ross Strudwick & Des Morris in front of it.

I used to go to Langlands to watch Easts play in the late 70's, early 80's. They used to get good crowds like the photo above. Like all Brisbane grounds of the time it was a very dated venue, park football really, even though the BRL was a pretty big deal in those days.

Some of the Sydney grounds today aren't really that much better. You'd think with the money that's been around some of the clubs for years they could have built stands all round for the spectators. But usually other than looking after the members, there are still grass (mud) hills.

Even the lower league teams in English football have better grounds than some NRL teams.

Even when the BRL was at its peak, not one of the outside grounds actually had a grandstand (apart from that oddly placed little stand at Langlands Park shown above).

Sydney grounds too flash either, but at least they actually had a grandstand.

Langlands Park is actually a nice venue these days with the best facilities of all the local QLD Cup grounds. They have a great little covered stands there now.
