[Travel] Need help with route suggestions, thanks!

Dear boardmates,

I'll be visiting Hanoi from Hong Kong in June15-19, this will be my first trip to Vietnam, is there anything that I should pay attention of? please let me know!

Secondly, I'm wondering is it possible to do a SAME DAY RETURN trip to any boarder city of Laos? I've already got a Lao's Visa, i just want to do a quick stop for a few hours, any where in Laos that I can return to Hanoi the same day, any suggestions will help, thanks!

Thirdly, what is the best way to get to and from Ha Long Bay?

for 3rd question, you can take bus from HN ( recommend my dinh bus station - Kumho, Ducphuc, Phucxuyen, Hoanglong - fare is around 70k vnd) or train leave from HN around 7 in morning and get to Halong @ 12pm, fare is around 12-15$
