And the tail-gate parties where everyone seems to get rat-arsed before the game and it never kicks off even if there are some 'away fans' present. They join in the festivities.

Win, lose or draw, a good time is usually had by all!

What the fuck went wrong with the us when it comes to big team sports?

yeah, tailgating is probally the best parts of gameday experience in this country. You really can't beat bringing your own beer, alcohol, food, grills, entertainment, etc. when the same stuff inside the stadium costs an arm and a leg.

oh and for those who are reading this thread--I know that most of you probally hate American football and sports in general. Check out these videos to see why it's so popular though.

I don't hate American football at all. I really enjoy watching it.

I don't know anything about College football other than having looked in the College football thread on the Stadium and Sports Arena section of SSC (incredible stadiums). But, in terms of NFL, I'm a Broncos fan.

No reason other than that, when American football was first shown regularly on British TV in 1984-85, John Elway was THE man. I was so happy when he finally won a Superbowl shortly before he retired (and then another one the following year!).

Anyway........college football. More cheerleader pics, please!

it'll be a shame to lose some traditional fixtures but we don't belong in the south division. the conferences need to switch names anyway - ten in the 12, twelve in the 10. they should rename the big ten 'the bigger 12'.

anyone going to the broncos - 49ers game at wembley on halloween? tickets on sale monday: http://www.nfluk.com/ticket-information.html

Packers fan here and confident of going all the way this time. Tonight is time for New Orleans to kick off by beating Minnesota again with Favre still sticking the dagger into Packers hearts once more.

Well you got your wish. Not a good display from Favre Dunno if he just needs a bit of time to get in sync with his receivers or is he going to be missing Sidney Rice all season?

Anyway. I've been watching the NFL properly for the last 4 seasons, love it more and more with each. But it takes up so much time, I can't bring myself to watch College football as well.

I enjoyed watching it when I lived there. I was a Redskins fan, but they sucked. I even went to FedEx Field to see the Ravens 'play' a pre-season game against the skins. And I used to attend my high school's football games. I've lost touch with all American sports since I left, boo time difference

As stupid as this is going to sound, I watched "waterboy" the other day and it really made me want to watch more American Football.

The last 5 years or so I've watched the Superbowl with increasing levels of enthusiasm. The sport and the spectacle fascinate me, and the Superbowl party we had last year complete with shit loads of beer, chicken wings and nachos was one of the best nights out I've had in a while.

So this year I'm going to make an effort to watch a few more games, I just need to know how to see NFL games in the UK? (and I don't mean forking out a fortune to go and see the game at Wembley)

channelsurfing.net and justintv.com are your best bets, sometime they get shut down in the middle of the game but are good 95% of the time. Sooo excited for tomorrow, heres to hoping the bills don't get embarrass at home.
