Anyone playing this GREAT game?

Maybe it's not a skyscraper-wonderfull game (unthough you can build up to XX stories by editing the businesssettings.lua, the models stay the same) but it is a great competative game!

AND you can create your own skins and soforth, I did some and will post them tomorrow when I have time.

Guess what...I just got my copy of Transport Giant!

FINALLY!
With Doom 3 and Transport Giant out on the shelves this month has got to be the best in a very long time (gaming wise that is ofcourse).

I am yet to try Transport Giant but it looks VERY good, I've been missing such games ever since the classic Transport Tycoon Deluxe back in the early/mid 90's!
Fortunately, Transport Giant looks just like it, only that it's far more superior in terms of the graphics and content

Info and features:
This is the year 1850. It's an age of radical change and new departures.
The era of mass production and mass transportation has just begun. The resourceful entrepreneur has plenty of opportunities. It's a time to build empires with just a little capital and a clever business idea.
New manufacturing plants are springing up everywhere. The world craves goods of every kind. Towns are growing at a breathtaking rate.
But how to get the goods to the customers? How can workers get to the plants? Who will haul the vast amounts of raw materials?
The time is ripe for a big and powerful haulage firm. Industry transportation in particular is getting out of hand and conventional methods just can't cope anymore.
Invest your little starting capital wisely, buy modern vehicles, and slowly build up a growing enterprise.
Present yourself in a favourable light to your customers, and oust your opponents from the market.
You'll need all your know-how and your skills to survive two centuries of changing economic tides and changing demands.
For a start, steam locomotives might do, but later on you'll have to replace them with monorails or even superconductor trains.

The world is your oyster - grab your chances!

- Simulation of a complex but easy-to-grasp transportation cycle,
- State-of-the-art iso graphics,
- Set-up of transport routes complete with infrastructure,
- Carriage of goods and passengers,
- Two different scenarios (Europe and USA),
- Ingenious signalling and guidance system for trains,
- Bridges and tunnels,
- Freely selectable company colour scheme for all vehicles,
- Company colours modelled on real-life railway companies,
- Over 130 vehicles (trains, monorails, superconductor trains, lorries, ships, aeroplanes and helicopters),
- Extremely long trains of up to 64 wagons,
- First appearance of a multiple traction option (i.e., more than one locomotive per train),
- Stations can be expanded at will,
- Over 60 different products and industries,
- Over 500 different buildings,
- Several campaigns for Europe and the USA,
- Ramified missions, embedded in a developing storyline,
- Numerous endless maps for Europe/USA,
- Realistic country scenarios,
- Changing seasons,
- Changing economic situations,
- Special missions and special events,
- Adjustable difficulty levels,
- Intuitive and well-tried interface

Wow it looks great. I recentley downloaded a version of transport tycoon that works on windows XP and have been playing it since. The only problem is that after so long the graphics did seem poor and it was a bit too easy. I still love the concept though and look forward to this new version

it looks brilliant apart from the fact that a lot of the buildings look quite old.

.............Skyscraper City!...............

This is a 3D city, called Skyscraper City. It will not look like a regular city, yet a city full of every skyscraper person's dream, skyscrapers! You may design any type of skyscraper you wish, but it has to be tall, or meets the specs that are in the picture, ie. if its a mall or stadium.
These are the files types that can be sent:

-TrueSpace (.cob) Versions up to 4.0 are supported. Material properties are supported.
-VideoScape (.vsa) All versions are fully supported.
-VRML1 (.wrl) Imports all properties relevant to Bryce, including camera, light, and surface and material textures.
-LightWave (.lwo or .lws) Both objects and scenes are supported. The camera, lights, and all objects (with material information) are imported. Versions 6 and up are not supported.
-Heightfield (.hf) Used to import descriptions of heightfields (terrains).
-USGS DEM (.dem) All forms of DEM files are supported.
-USGS SDTS (.ddf) This format is the new USGS format which will replace DEM files.
-Portable Greyscale Map (.pgm) Used to import descriptions of heightfields (terrains).
-3d Studio® Objects (.3ds)
-3DMF (.3mf)
-AutoCad® (.dfx)
-Direct 3D (.x)
-Wavefront (.obj)
-WCS Elev (.elev)
-WorldToolKit® (.nff)

Please claim your real-estate, or lot number, so I can reserve it for you!

Here is the lot map, take one that isn't sold while you can!

Current city, without infrastructure

Note to Moderators: Can you please make this it's own subforum?

Just see if any program you have can create a file of any file types above, then claim a piece of real-estate, a number/block from the map that is not sold, and that becomes yours! You can create a building to go there, send me the model, then i'll put it in!

I'll post up renderings of the city as it grows!

New Mall for City: Skymall

This is the newly added Sky Mall to Skyscraper City.

The view is from the platform of the western waterbase (Aqua 1 Residential Complex).
