"The City" which is really not a city, but London's CBD...

I spent a few days in London about a year ago. My friends were there on business, going in and out of meetings, so I decided not to wander too far off the central business area, confusingly called “The City”. Not the most interesting or exciting part of town, according to many people’s opinions, but I found it really interesting!

interesting set of pictures there, people mainly focus on the tower of london or the skyline.
I'm not an expert, but the "City of London" is not actually the entire greater london, its a square mile of land where the Londinium was originally founded in 76 A.D. It's basically our main historical and modern financial cores.
My knowledge on this type of thing isn't fantastic, so search elsewhere to find out or probably someone on here could tell you more about it.

Nice photos, thanks, but the City is not "London's CBD". The rest of central London, which we can lump as the West End, has more office space, more employment, and generates more GDP. It's also home to all the arts, entertainment, nightlife, and shopping.

The City is grey and depressing, the West End seedy and unpleasant.

'The City' is where the original Roman settlement of Londinium was, which over time grew into the city of London we know and love today.

It's the historical, and now financial, centre of London, being home to many banks, hedge funds and associated service industries.

And great photos

This doesn't look like London to me.

Is it Mexico City?

I don't think it is London, the Seven Eleven Store and street signs gives it away!

Some lovely photos there - well done, and thanks for sharing. The City isn't the livliest part of London, but it's surely full of lovely magical moments and corners to be discovered.

More photos from London, a bit beyond the City this time, though, mostly of the South Bank and starting with the Tate Modern Gallery.
