I went to the game on Saturday against Huddersfield Giants.

I have to say the ground needs a lot of work doing to it as does the approach to the stadium.

With Wakefield bound to go and be replaced by Widnes, Halifax have a very strong bid in place which means Hull KR and Castleford could be in trouble, they wont touch the franchise clubs Crusaders, Catalan or Harlequins.

I think the North stand plans include improvements to the approach and a public square/area. The beginning of the stadium improvements should seal the franchise as Rovers will have equal standard facilities as the likes of Halifax etc and greater crowd attendances especially their travelling away support.
I don't know if the decision to decrease/increase franchises has been made but I would'nt rule out a merger Castleford/Wakefield. Salford will go before the robins.
Good job those towers have floodlights on them, Rovers current lights seem to be knackered.
What stand were you in Kingston?

The lights are only around 3 years old though!

Regarding the new stand, I. Like the fact it joins up with the rodger millward stand. I always thought the corners looked 'messy'

I can't think what the atmosphere would be like in the new stand however I shall be remaining in the east stand, while on about the east stand I had a quick look at the extension. Nothing had really happened yet but the hill area is now flat

True, they are quite new. Maybe we had some travelling friends helping theirselves to some copper, after all Danny Brough was in town

From the look of the building that joins up to the Roger stand, there seems to be no spectator terrace. I hope the windows will be for hospitality suites etc and not empty conference rooms.

Haha wouldn't surprise me

The building joining contains a restaurant, boxes and offices/learning space. I'm sure that a gym and new club shop was also mentioned

North stand going ahead and construction is expected to start in Febuary. The east stand extension is on hold and depends on if Hull kr can get additional funding from the ERDF scheme. If they do not receive this it means Hull kr will have to pay a lot more for their new north stand.

I'm a HKR supporter. And the majority of fans would oppose to a move to the KC. 1. The fact it's in west Hull is bad enough 2. Many fans hate the atmosphere in the KC or the lack of infact. And with the 1m i know it is being given in parts and although I do not know the whole of it I know it will turn out more then 1m

These are of course my opinions I do not think I am right. Everyone on here is entiltled to their own opinion so I like to cause this a discussion instead of an argument.

Yes Rovers supporters will oppose it, most my family are HKR supporters so yes i'm aware of the feeling with regards to a move to WH. HKR was offered the use of the KC as was all the professional clubs in the City, which they turned down because of one of the reasons you state, but that was when they wasn't in the Super League and relied on there hardcore couple of thousand who turned up,very different times, you will see a lot of cost cutting at Rovers ie playing staff etc and that was partly the reason JM was released they have no money and he was one of the highest paid coaches in SL.

But anyway.

LOL...i had you down as being a Leeds Rhino's fan with that avatar..

Seriously, i am hoping Prezza's intervention is going to save this development at Craven Park. It would be a real shame for the City if the Allams pull out of this, i can understand them being peeved with Council after the KC fiasco, but the facilities planned for Craven Park would be great for the City.

i very much doubt that the million quid from allam was to fund stadium development. it will've been used entirely for day to day costs because, as has been said, rovers are skint.

He did not say what rovers could and couldn't spend the cash on. I thought that there was a press release stating the money will be put towards something useful and not as you call 'day to day' costs

This discussion seems to be based on opinions & rumours and not much fact.

The players released this season, with the exception of maybe Newton, have under performed or have reached the age of retirement. These players and the coach have been released to allow the team an influx of youth and a change in direction. Hudgel has already stated in the press he is looking to reach the salary cap for next season.

Why on earth would the council help with a 3 million pound grant towards ground reconstruction with the knowledge (as owners of the KC) of Rovers leaving Craven Park.

Most super league clubs are in debt, Rovers have just received an upgraded B license, with the Rugby League looking closely at their accounts, how was that achieved when they were so close to going bust?

In 2008 these two teams met the financial criteria and were awarded Franchises. 3 years later they had financial problems.

In July 2011 the 2nd franchises were given.
Crusaders withdrew their application for a franchise because they could not meet the financial criteria.

Wakefield were granted a franchise after a take over from a new owner.Their accounts must of been in order.
Hull KR (a debt ridden club) were also awarded an increase cat B franchise. This was less than 2 months ago.

What is your point?

'Hull' how are you so sure the construction of the North Stand will Go ahead?
How are the rest of you so sure it won't. How do you know Rovers have no money?
