IRAQ Forum Administration and Moderation
Hi Everyone
This is the official thread for the admin and moderation of the Iraq forum. If you have any suggestions, complaints, or just simply you like to share your thoughts, please post it in this thread. Do not post in project threads this is to keep them relevant and to the point. Posts that are related to the administration and moderation of this forum that were posted elsewhere will be moved here over the coming days. Cheers

you know with projects like these, I feel they are better off in a single thread called "roads" ?

Don't get me wrong. It's a big project. But I think the forum is becoming difficult to navigate now. W should either have a sub forum with "transport infrastructure" or maybe lump all the road projects into a single thread? I am saying that because im finding it increasingly difficult to find stuff now on the forum!

i think we should have different threads for regions, example "Kurdistan", "Western Iraq", "Baghdad" and "South"

no. threads should be by TOPIC, if i want to read about "roads" there's a place i can find, if i want to find malls and hotels, there's a subforum for that etc...

hey guys,
restructuring the forum is no easy task, and mods don't have the privileges to create subforums only admins can (otherwise I would've already did these things for you guys without any problems !) at the present time, admins will not agree to this. since we are no different to other forums that are using this current template. if you are refering to the Iran forum, the reason why they have what they have today is because they were one of the first forums to be added in the Mideast section, and back then, there wasn't so much of a standard 'structure' to follow compared to now. They still struggled to get what they wanted, for example, it took them 2 YEARS to get a "chit chat section" like baghdad cafe I actually prefer sheytan's suggestion as well, compared to organizing by location. the reason for this is that you can click the header for "thread name" and it will sort all of the threads by location in alphabatical order, (this is the reason why we put the location of a project first followed by other details). which makes browsing by city location easier because of this feature. |

there is a possiblity that other mods will create a sub-forum for KRG , this way all the projects will be moved there unfortunately . kurdish members here are just almost now as much as your members , we have projects related to our (Erbil) governemnt so we have a right to have our sub forum.

If that happenes then the admins of skyscarppercity.com should expect more requests to create subforums for cities! you can not create a subforum for a state/city and ignore the rest. If such thing must happen then logically it should be subject-based to keep things under control.

they don't "handout" forums to every troll who decides to spam admins with demands (as was the case here). There is a system in place for creating new subforums for better orgnisation of this website. In the case of the Iraq subforum (as I said many times before), we will consider how this forum will be structured when it reaches a much larger size. We will discuss it when that time comes, and everyone will get to share their opinion here. But the decision is ultimately at the hands of the admins, Mods (such as myself) can only make recommendations to them, and it's up to them to either approve or decline our suggestions. For now, the structure that we have is sufficient, and does the job well. and it will be the case for a while to come. |

alankurdi was tolerated for many months, we in fact received several complaints about him even before this mess was started in the last week. MrIraq got told off once before he actually got banned. and it wasn't his fourth time as you claim. In any case. MrIraq, alan, karman, all got banned for continuing to behave innapropriatly despite warnings. now you posted that message, (even in the wrong section, sent it to admins, and tried to troll), I still havent banned you or given you an infraction, despite the fact that you offended many people with your comments. I will discuss with other mods what to do for your case. in any case, mods are not suppose to justify their decision by posting publicially as I'm doing now.. in fact, It's very unconventional, I would probably be told off by other mods for doing this.
