We are waiting for official news from the government. Meanwhile, you know something about a possible pavilion?

I meant that you're making a lot of threads that could go elsewhere or just aren't relevant. This could easily just go in the politics thread for instance.

As I explained earlier, my intentions were to put NZ on the international stage. For example, the news of John Key, I have not inserted into the thread of politics because it could affect only the country's domestic politics. I thought that putting it into the thread would have more international significance. Comuque if it does not go well and you do not like, I will not add much information of this kind. I hope you will at least help to include important information and events to talk about. Thanks.

John Key in Europe: finished the meeting with Sarkozy, went to London for the marriage of William and Kate, and maybe it will be in Italy.

A meeting between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Prime Minister John Key which touched on climate change and Afghanistan has ended a whirlwind of diplomatic talks in Paris.
''He has wide-ranging views,'' Key said of the meeting. ''He is very keen to see progress. He recognises, as the G20 and the G8 do, that the imbalances that are currently in place need to be unwound. He believes strongly in investment that needs to take place and that we need to address those issues upfront.''
The pair also talked about climate change, ''the need for that to be back on the agenda and for progress to be made before we go to Durban [for the UN climate change conference] at the end of the year.''
''I think all of use recognise the challenges in Afghanistan,'' Key said. ''We are desperately seeking to find solutions there.
"I think we both agree that the work we are doing there and the sacrifices we are making are important ones. But like everyone we are looking to see a final conclusion and the full handover of power to the Afghan people.''
He also pressed New Zealand's bid for a place on the UN security council in 2014. France is a permanent member and as such can not expressly back a country.
Although his primary focus is on Asia, Key would like to open up trade with Europe, currently worth around $12bn to New Zealand
"At the moment we have a declaration... New Zealand over time has an ambition to complete a more comprehensive economic partnership with the European zone.''
Lagarde ''understood'' New Zealand's position. ''And she wasn't negative, so that's a step in the right direction.''

Prime Minister and his wife Bronagh have dined with the Queen at Windsor Castle in London.
Key presented her with a gift of New Zealand Twinings tea and Manuka honey.
He told her about his earlier visit to Westminster Abbey, where preparations are being made for the royal wedding.
Key said the main topic of conversation was the Christchurch earthquake.
Key also chatted to the Queen about the upcoming wedding of Price William and Kate Middleton.
Key said he was sure the Queen would want to talk about the Christchurch earthquake and Pike River disaster, as Prince William had visited victims and their families in February.
He would also discuss the Commonwealth heads of Government meeting in Australia which she will attend at the end of the year.

There are 51 Heads of State and other real, will attend the 1st May, in St. Peter's Square, the ceremony of beatification of John Paul II, presided over by Benedict XVI. The list of heads of state, drawn by the Prefecture of the Papal Household, will be 'communicated only behind the celebration for security reasons.

With this thread I wanted to ask questions, news, events, of New Zealand and its inhabitants on the international scene. I mean talk about various issues affecting this nation, but seen from abroad. Sorry if I expressed myself badly from the start. I hope you can help me to enter such information.

OECD Better Life

What’s Your Better Life Index?
Your Better Life Index is designed to let you visualise and compare some of the key factors – like education, housing, environment, and so on – that contribute to well-being in OECD countries. It’s a tool that allows you to see how countries perform according to the importance you give to each of 11 topics that make for a better life.

More info on: http://www.oecdbetterlifeindex.org/

I created these tables reporting the data of 34 countries, which I divided into three categories:
- Countries with 0 to 10 million inhabitants
- Countries with > 10 to 50 million inhabitants
- Countries with > 50 million inhabitants
