Good Initiative.
![]() Full support to the new thread. BTW, Kiranchetta, I feel no need to remove 'the name Pathanamthitta from Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Alappuzha project thread' even though a new thread for Pathanamthitta is here. It is because I feel that, eventhough I opposed Aranmula airport, still I would like Pathanamthitta forumers to be reminded about my contribution to Pathanamthitta in SSC. otherwise, they may tend to think that I am a Pathanamthitta hater.

Facilities at Sabarimala to be improved
Special Correspondent THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A meeting of officials attended by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and chaired by Devaswom Minister V.S. Sivakumar has decided to complete the work and repair of 17 ancillary roads connected to Sabarimala that were pointed out by the High Court well before the season. The meeting held here on Thursday to identify steps that should be taken by various departments before the next pilgrimage season and the implementation of the master plan in a time-bound manner also resolved to install the necessary equipment at the cardiology centre at Apachimedu and increase the treatment facilities at the Pathanamthitta Hospital, peripheral hospitals and at Erumeli. Work under the master plan will be speeded up. The Nilakkal parking facility will be improved and maximum area tarred. The augmentation schemes to increase water supply would also be speeded up. Parking facility will be improved at the Pampa bus stand also. Bus services will be operated from all centres. The Electricity Board and the Devaswom Board will take immediate steps to lay cables to improve power supply to the Sabarimala, Pampa and Nilakkal areas. The repair and maintenance of the road via Wandiperiyar will be undertaken. Emergency lamps will be installed at Pullumedu, the scene of tragedy during the last season, and at other places where pilgrims thronged to see the Makarajyothi. A sum of Rs. 1 crore will be sanctioned from the Disaster Management Fund for the purpose. The meeting asked the Devaswom Minister to convene separate meetings of the Ministers of the other departments concerned to discuss the work to be done by each department. ==================== Good to know that the government has started the meetings related to Sabarimala pilgrimage now itself…
