UFOs on Merseyside

Quote:
"UFO crash" off Liverpool coast leads to lifeboat rescue
By Chris Bradley.

A lifeboat crew hoping to make history rescuing a UFO ended up having their hopes of a close encounter dashed.

Volunteers from New Brighton Lifeboat Station answered a call from HM Coastguard Liverpool about reports of a silver object seen to fall from the sky at 8:52am on Saturday.

Wirral Lifeguards said the object "looked like a weather balloon" and the Atlantic 85 class inshore lifeboat Charles Didbin was launched to investigate the crash site.

The lifeboat crew were disappointed by what they found in Portland Slip, near Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton.

Closer examination of the UFO identified it as a large group of grey balloons tied together presumably for a wedding or a birthday.

HM Coastguard spokesperson Paul Parkes said: "It's what we call a false alarm with good intent. The nature of the reports meant we had to investigate."

Cliff Downing, New Brighton lifeboats operation manager, said: "There was a large silver object coming down from the sky at a slow rate and a warning came from a plane about the large object.

"We found four or five helium balloons that were partly inflated and we deflated them and brought them ashore."

There have been a history of UFO sightings on Merseyside and even reports of contact being made with extra-terrestrial life on Wirral.

In secret Ministry of Defence files released in 2008, a Wirral man had regular meetings with an alien called Elgar. Sadly Elgar was killed by a member of another alien race in the 1980s.

Other reports of UFO sightings over Wallasey Town Hall and Liverpool were also included.
UFOs are pretty common across Merseyside, especially around the River Mersey, apparently.

No they're not because they're not real.

Of course UFOs are real. The question is if or how they can be explained.

I presume you actually mean you don't think UFOs are ever alien spaceships, that have travelled incredible distances just to buzz around, lark about and inspect the human anus. On that, I tend to agree.

I know that there was one many many years ago and 'sucked' someone up into the craft.

'They' performed experiments on the man and subjected him to tests which the end result was the man was given strange unexplained personality disorders, including obsessions about some of his (already) strange thoughts.

He was then brought back to earth and deposited in the Milton Keynes area. Don't know what happened to him after that though.

Liverpool unprepared for alien attack - official
by Gary Stewart, Liverpool Echo. Aug 29 2011

How Liverpool would look if aliens invaded

LIVERPOOL leaders have been forced to admit that Merseyside is woefully unprepared in the event of an alien invasion.

The glaring defence issue was revealed after a concerned member of the public put in a Freedom of Information request to Merseyside Police, Fire Service and Liverpool Primary Care Trust.

The question, registered on the website whatdotheyknow.com, asked: “Can you please furnish me with any and all information held by yourselves relating to plans to deal with an alien invasion?

“By alien, I mean a life-form that evolved on a planet other than Earth, and travelled here by any means possible.”

Merseyside police admitted they had no such contingency though pointed out that emergency legal powers could be applied if flying saucers were to threaten the city.

A police spokesperson told the ECHO: “Merseyside Police has no specific plan with regards to dealing with an 'alien invasion'.

“The Force however has a major incident plan and robust business continuity plans, in the event of national emergencies in line with Sections 1 and 2 of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

“This act covers the role of many bodies including the police service in the event of a national emergency.”
