Nice! Looks a lot better than the one they are planning to build in Taipei, IMO. Can't wait to see the finished building!

The one they're planning on building by Jiantan MRT Station (replacing the temporary night market structure). There were some interesting designs in the competition, but in the end they went for this one. (Looks like there's not a thread for this yet; I'll go make one.)

yea i dont like that design either. but they didnt design that. that was designed by Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren which is surprising cuz they usually create awesome architecture. if they got rid of the ball and box structures sticking out on the sides it would look so much better. i just dont understand the concept!

LOL I saw the taipei one first and then this one, and my initial thoughts were why can't Taipei have something as nice as this? if not big and wide, at least stacked and vertical. Freaking cancerous building man

the only thing im worried about is this: how do they prevent the canvased tarps from getting dirty in kaohsiung industrial environment? i hope they clean and maintain it often or it will look pretty dirty quickly!

My only worry is Taiwan's acid rain. I don't know if it's as bad in the south as it is in the north, but white in Taiwan usually turns brownish and grimy after a couple years, I hope KSH has a plan / way of maintaining it!
