Jonesy's travels - Croatia, south Dalmatia!

The third instalment of my summer travels, first two episodes in Montenegro and Bosnia can be found in my signature links.

We based ourselves in Orebic, on the Peljesac peninsula in southern Croatia, an hour north of Dubrovnik.

Thanks, yeah Orebic was a nice base, it's a fairly modern town with villas and apartment buildings, nice water for bathing, places to eat etc. It was very international, I saw some other Brits, lots of Germans, Austrians, Slovenians, Bosnians and Italians, a sprinkling of French and Dutch, a few Czechs, Poles Slovaks and Scandinavians, even an Australian couple buying a toaster in Konzum! Didn't see many Serbs though, they seem to stick to Montenegro where I saw thousands of Serbian cars.

The Peljesac peninsula is wine-making country so there are some good wineries and also good beaches. This is our favourite one we found, a small cove with just a couple of houses, a small campsite and simple cafe on the north side of the peninsula about 25 minutes drive from Orebic called Divna.

I love the colors! So blue... turquoise
I have to go to Pelješac peninsula next summer. It is 12 years now that I havent been to south Dalmatia. I have a house in north Dalmatia so Im kind of stuck to that area.
