KIGALI - the capital of Rwanda (most densely populated country in Africa)
Rwanda is a small land locked country situated in Central-East Africa . The country is well known mostly because of its horrible past that culminated into genocide in 1994.
Today Rwanda is safe and secure with an overwhelming renaissance of national pride and cultural reconstruction and has made significant progress from the devastated nation. Despite obstacles, Rwanda wants to become a modern center of IT and finance. Also Rwanda in the TOP-5 least corrupt countries of Africa ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrupt...ceptions_Index ) Kigali is the capital and largest city of Rwanda (popul. about 900 thousands) It is one of the friendliest, cleanest and safest of Africa's cities. Visitors arriving in Kigali feel the cords of discipline as flight attendants warn everyone not to leave the plane carrying plastics and polythene waste. Government takes special care to keep the city clean, safe, and free of beggars through various government initiatives. Warning signals built into the sidewalks at bus stops blink like Christmas lights. The discipline spills down to the public transport system where even the motorbike taxis do not operate without their green uniforms and helmets. Committing a traffic offence here is a crime that offenders know can land them in jail. United Nations Habitat granted Kigali the Habitat Scroll of Honour Award in 2008 – a prestigious award in recognition of work carried out in human settlements development. Kigali was the first city to win the accolade in Africa as many capital cities in the continent struggle with pressures of urbanisation. Even in poor neighborhoods, which tend to lie at the bottom of Kigali's many hills, the poverty appears less abject than in some African capitals. Rwanda is a poor country. There is backbreaking poverty in rural areas, but in Kigali house building boom. Modern private housing activity that seems to be rapidly advancing over all the hills. And although Rwanda is not an oil producer or diamonds exporter, but through proper planning and management Kigali are on the rise and are boasting good revenue flow. A breath of fresh air to me in this forum! An unknown city. The only thing that I have to say is that the blue map can get a bit confusing.
PS: At school, my geo teacher told us not to color in any map blue as blue is used to color water.

Rwanda is quite a forward-thinking country – mainly thanks to the propulsion of its visionary leader. In 2009, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Kigali City leadership unveiled the Kigali Conceptual Master Plan, “the framework on which the development of Kigali City shall be based for the next 30-50 years.” It is most definitely a long range and ambitious plan, envisioning the future of Kigali as some kind of a cross between Miami, Singapore, and Geneva. The plan is focused around transforming the CBD, Central Business District, of Kigali into a world-class hub of investment, attractions, beauty, and wealth.
