I really like Richmond; in fact I was going to live there instead of Surrey at first.
I think the only draw back about Richmond is the cap on height restrictions. I understand with the air port being there, they have too, but it is the shits. If the airport was built some where else, think how dense and built up Richmond would be by now.

It's not just the airport. The reclaimed swampy island with its alluvium deposits is probably not suitable for hi-rise constructions. Notice the preloading required to build a structure there?

It's no wonder almost every residential tower in Richmond has the exact same height, they all take it to the limit of the height restricition. Gives it a very distinct skyline.

The only things I like about Richmond is there are lots of good restaurants there and the city is pretty clean compare with other cities in the metro area. But I just simply can't stand the traffic jam there.

under these high rises.
