Vienna seen from above (17 pictures)

Hi,

in this series i'd like to show some pictures (by myself) from outside Vienna showing the city completely.

Nr.1 From a nice meadow ("Wiener Blick") in the southwesternmost part of Vienna (called "Lainzer Tiergarten") you have a stunning view over large parts of Vienna:



Nr.2 Another nice, calm place is the "Schafberg" on the border of 17/17th district in the outer western part of Vienna. Here, at about 390 m altitude, you see the skyline of "Wienerberg City"



Nr.3 Same location, but glimpse to the southwest: Slightly sloped terrain manifested by the Laaer Berg, called "Monte Laa" by citizens, culminating with about 250 m (90 m above the center of the city).



Nr.4 From Kahlenberg (19th district) there is a great look "downtown" to the UNO-City northeast of the Danube, here with the Danube Tower



Nr.5 and following ...originate from the "Jubiläumswarte", an observation tower in the 16th district which allows you a 360 ° view given favourable weather/wind conditions, i.e. winds have to blow from westerly directions. Otherwise, especially southeast, hazy air makes clear views impossible



Nr. 6 Thaliastraße, Koppstraße and Gablenzgasse (from left to right) as distinctive view axes.



Nr. 7 Mass housing project Alterlaa, with the Leithagebirge behind



Nr. 8 Arsenal tower and air-traffic control tower Schwechat (Vienna Airport)



Nr. 9 General Hospital Vienna (AKH) during sunset



Nr. 10 Vienna becomes also "different" due to the Vintage culture, especially in the northnorthwestern parts (Kahlenberg)



Nr.11 A big city?



Nr.12 Skyline is also impressive from "Palace Garden Schönbrunn"



Nr.13/14 A nice place is also a wine tavern in the upper 16th district (Ottakring) with a great view to the Wienerberg





Nr.15 From Bahnorama Tower in 10th district, just adjacent to the future main station of Vienna, you have a good view over most parts of the 10th district, here to the south



Nr.16 The Monte Laa exhibits a favourable view to the 21st and 22nd district
(UNO-City)



Nr.17 Skyline from 20th district (close to the Danube), with the flaktowers in the foreground, Votiv church right of the right tower and City Hall left of the right tower.
